Unaddressed childhood trauma is a tragic thing

Capt'n Ren

Roxy is in her mid 30's at this time if I am remembering correctly. Her age is equal to Rudy's mental age of his past life plus his current life. Makes tracking it a bit fun.

Capt'n Ren

Roxy is a Saint class mage. Which is in the top half of the seven ranks. Which is still very impressive. Although... now Rudy is too at age 5.

Capt'n Ren

As you saw this episode, Rudy got brutally sexually harassed his freshman year of high school and shut himself in his room, he never left his room the next 20 years until his parents died in an accident and his brothers came and kicked him out of his room. This resulted in him being mentally not a well developed person since he carried over his memories from his past life. But we get to see what this person can do with a second chance at life. He isn't a self insert character, but he is someone we can hope improves himself.

Capt'n Ren

Of course she is going to walk. You expect her to catch the next taxi?

TheErisianMonk

Dude, please take this down. You know that her age is revealed later.

TheErisianMonk

"Up to some terrible shit," eh? I don't think so. He was a remarkably shitty human, but I can't classify wasting his life and jerking off to porn "terrible shit." The problem is that he was up to nothing.

TheErisianMonk

What exactly made you think that porn was illegal? I'm just hella curious. This being an anime, it's hard to make out if that hentai or "live action" adult programming. I thought it was just a chick "handling herself," so I couldn't imagine what you meant. His brother's reaction would have been pretty bad regardless off whatever spank material he would have been using instead of being at the funeral.

TheErisianMonk

10:15 Nope. He was conked out after one spell when he was first using magic. He may have had less than average mana at birth. Like he said, using up you mana made it grow. Since he spent all of his free time casting that water spell as a toddler, he was definitely expanding his mana pool.

Capt'n Ren

Obviously it's revealed later or we would never know. He directly asked for her age. If your suggesting her age alone is some story spoiler then you are going a bit far dude. He already knows she isn't human.

TheErisianMonk

30:42 Yeah, something tells me that Uber doesn't cover that area. 😝

rbgtalk

when did i say porn was illegal? i was insinuating the filming might have been secretive and not of her volition, or even worse, the girl in the video might not have been of age

rbgtalk

yes i was expecting her to call for a Lyft

Capt'n Ren

Might take a while. Have to wait for truck-kun to strike the Lyft driver over from Earth while they are still in their car. 🤣

Buddy

He was just watching porn and this anime made me realize how many people doesn't understand how amazing was for social pervertness and purism the invention of "porn" in dvd and digital lol like people were crazy back then! and yes, mushoku is amazing in character writting, everyone has flaws in someway but also good in other ways, is all about change in small or big ways, no one ever stays the same and this includes the main character, he isn't a monster per se, but he definitely was a discord mod before hand and the anime doesn't try to wash him, if anything they really want you to know how shitty he was. Also, they never explain it but at 15 you are a complete adult, that means work ,taxes expecting to make a family and all of that, the life expectancy is usually around 45-50 in good countries and in dangerous places is like 35-40 so just like in real life because people died and were killed so fast they had to grow quick and why the way they treat kids and such differently, like, a 12 year old is for us like a 16 year old in what they need to do and act and things like that, is really a nice touch.
