I definitely think Khan overlooked that Subura broke Emilia's trust and that what he did in the palace was to Emilia's detriment. He made a fool of himself and brought the image of those Emilia's keeps around, down. Subura went to the palace with good intentions but let his own feelings dictate his actions. He was thinking for himself and not Emilia. He acted out of his own feelings and not considering Emilia's.
