not much of a joke tbh and khan obviously struggles with names so he's probably just saying that to avoid pronunciation, either that or he's doubling down on the joke because it would be weird for him to suddenly use their proper names. it was funny at first but now it's just mildly annoying, it's like calling yoruichi "the cat", or for example calling shinpachi "four eyes" but then never using their actual names. it's not a real issue don't get me wrong, but it gives us the impression that he doesn't respect the characters enough to use their names, which can become annoying when repeated. I hope he doesn't keep calling kakyoin "the namek" later on, that would actually be annoying, I thought this double would put that respect on him but I guess not. Again, not that big of an issue, just a mild thought
