So the actual Shogun made his appearance and this man is flipping hilarious. So its no surprise that this man is wanted by Takasugi because Japan is what it is today because of this flipper right, the surrendering of the samurai and the authority given to the amanto is because of him and his leadership. The way his character is, he's a walking target. The shogun stick game was hilarious LOL

Just to clear up, the surrender happened 20 years ago, this is mentioned in the old intro it used to have where it explains the story. you can see this shogun is quite young, It wasn't this shogun who surrendered.

John so khan. i want to clear something up cuz based on ur description, i think there might be some confusion so when the amantos came and invaded and the shogun surrendering, that happened 20 years ago. the joui war started a little after the surrendering. the joui war lasted for 10 years. Gintoki was still a kid when the joui war first broke out. he didn't join until he was around his teen years. so from the start of the surrendering and the present timeline, thats 20 years right there... In the episode, kondo mentioned that the current shogun's father had passed away. meaning he wasn't the shogun of that time. Plus, if you look at the shogun now, he looks pretty young. he's not some old head. just wanted to clear this up cuz it seems like you think this shogun was the shogun from 20 years ago. the shogun during the joui era was his father and the info that im giving you, it stated in the beginning of the early eps and the ginpachi sensei clip i sent you. i hope this clears up the timeline alil better i didn't want you going throughout the entire series thinking the current shogun was the old shogun from 20 years ago Me But because he is the current shogun wouldn’t that still make him a target? Maybe not I guess but I’m sure Takasugi is pissed at the current state of Japan, and since he’s the current leader, I would still think he should be a target lol. Even though he wasn’t the one that gave up, but because he is the ruler and has no plan in changing, I don’t know I still would think he’s a target. Oh and he defo looks young, so the one responsible was his father the original shogun, not him. One can only hope he has some plans to retake Japan, because if he don’t I don’t see how he is not a target at some point. John ur right about the current shogun still being a target. he's still the offspring of the past shogun, so he would still be a target. i was just explaining that the shogun u saw wasn't the same shogun of the past who originally surrendered and open the doors to the amantos invading. that was the only part i wanted to clear up. but yes, ur correct about him still being a target. it's kinda like with one piece. how people saw ace as a potential threat cuz he was the son of the pirate king. similar in a way of how takasugi wants to kill the current shogun and yeh no problem. just wanted to clear the shogun part up and i wanted to give u the timeline as well So yh boys the current shogun is the original shoguns son.
