just ended watching second episode - At the end you said "Lucy has her own mission to do". - she is not, she is just still running from Arasaka and don't want David involved. Even she escaped as a kid, they still search for her and her skills, thats why they paid faraday millions to capture her. If you don't understand some things, you can read other patreon long comment under episodes 5,6. Its long but explains everything well without any spoilers. Take care!

And Old-Net is fun concept as cyberpunk happens in 2077. Old net is just our internet we're using right now, but at some point AI got its own mind, started to multiply itself and rebeled vs humans. Humanity ditched internet as AI became like demon controling everything and after shut down of internet we lost all data humanity ever collected and had to start over. Arasaka is trying to receive something valuable from old net and is forcing netrunners to dive into this hellish spawn of AIs, thats why Lucy was created. But anime or game is not answering question what they exacly lost in old net years ago.

I think Khan doesnt understand 80% and you can not expect him to do it. Its a different genre, its like "Khan, why are you not understanding DnD lore, cmon man". Without dub, its not even accurate at all. The text is totally different what they are saying in comms. No luck with this one, i am actually surprised he could understood this much because i could not if I wouldve watched this with sub only.

Nah I think khan has grasped it pretty well so far, this message is more confusing tbh. Lucy isn't simply just running away otherwise why would she be interferring with the data, all we know is she is trying to accomplish something around the data without telling David for reasons.

I also think Khan is doing fine with understanding the story - Its easy to understand Lucy was an experiment and is chased by her past all the time. Remember that, game at first was a total failure and a lot of people skipped playing it, but anime somehow won 2023 best anime award beating final season of AoT and Demon Slayer, so a lot of people loved it even if they get into cyberpunk lore for the first time in their life. Watching anime with dub is a little cringe so I am glad he chose subs. Knowledge of full lore of Cyberpunk is not necessary - but I also want Khan to know more of it! Things like oldnet lore, or what Arasaka is in general, how they are on the same level of filth as celestial dragons etc. Anyway studio trigger always makes chaotic animes with sudden twists in story as we saw in gurren lagann for example. Can't wait for reaction to last 2 episodes, complete peak incoming.
