At this point might as well continue watching the anime and put manga on pause while all this hype Is going on. I think you'll enjoy these moments better In anime than Manga for sure and it won't be as exciting if you already knownwhats to come

Kaido was sent flying in the anime which wasnt the case in the manga, also the reactions from Kaido getting "hurt" wasn't really in the manga - as if he was struggling lol

Yea but the attacks do hurt him, it's not like they don't pack a punch, he acknowledges their power, and instead of dodging he welcomes each and every blow, that's just in his nature, it isn't a struggle but his way of enjoyment.

Welcomes each and every blow except that one from Zoro at the end haha. Has to be my fav moment. One Yonko telling another Yonko to "Dodge" is insane

Actually it was Zoro who missed the attack due to the overwhelming power of Enma, Kaido stood still and was ready to receive it. Big Mom warned him about it and told him to dodge but he actually didn't, that's just who he is.

why fire doesn't affect Luffy ?

if zoro hit kaido with enma one sword style, that would've ended kaido right there. which is why the attack had to miss kaido

It does affect him, but Luffy says it's because he has guts. As in he had the guts to push through and resist the fire with his strength instead of dodging. He is affected by the fire he just didn't care.

some people in here will complain, even if the anime has the best animation of all time they will still find flaws and say manga is better lol extreme of the extreme some manga readers

The way I see it, besides shortening cool scenes, the manga often misses out on character interactions, or getting into the character's head like Zoro telling Luffy to stay focused or Kaido comparing the supernovas to Roger and the others. That's an extra reason I prefer the anime, Oda has to fill each panel with action or story in moments like this. Of course some like that but I want as much personality added to the characters to fully feel the impact of big moments and see where their head is at.

The one thing that the manga does better imo are the standoffs between them and the yonkou... Like at the end of chapter 1001, that looked better.

I'm a long time manga reader and the wano anime overall was definitely better than the manga so far imo (and atm it seems like it only continues to get better). Some manga elitists will always say the manga is better no matter how good (or bad) the Episodes are. I mean that's their opinion and that's fine, but i disagree 100%, and i know the Story and all the fights before i watch these Episodes ...

Anime until the rest of wano is probably a safe bet, i dont think there would be any more crazy spoilers that would reach him

When the entire wano arc is finished in the anime it will definitely be better then the manga. The lackluster pacing is really only noticeable when you watch week to week.

haki is another term for willpower or ambition, so when luffy says "guts", he isn't wrong lol because he's using haki

There is no confirmation anywhere that kaido didn't dodge it lol. Kaido is not stupid even tho he has an ego. He knows the cut that hurt him was the same that he was about to receive. He probably dodged it but there is no proof of neither.

Just enjoy whatever you want, don't let comments sway you. I switched to manga bcs Anime Punk Hazard and Dressrosa gave me ptsd but every other arc was at least well done with Sabaody being my top arc

it wouldn't ended him, it would left a scar or hurt him the most that why kaido dodge a little bit most of the attacks he just takes them but zoro attack made him dodge but still if the attack did hit him I don't think it would ended him

We should read the cover manga stories, there's a lot of history missing in the anime. But the chapters themselves... Man toei is doing great

The thing is between anime and manga is that the anime is just there to enhance the manga. Oda gets 1 week to work on a chapter while toei gets a few weeks to sometimes months to work on an episode. So it just makes sense for them to expand and make certain scenes of the manga better. Oda would never be able to fit in things such as those full on transformations at the start of the episode while only having around 17 pages to work with in a week. So while the anime is great as a first time watch, the manga gets us through the story a lot faster which is what most of us care about in one piece. It is nice as a manga reader to go back and watch the scenes enhanced whenever it gets animated though, assuming toei is putting in the money and effort like in this episode and 1015
