I highly doubt that Oda is 100% behind every decision being made at Toei, he probably tells them to keep it as much as canon as they can but expand on scene's that are cut short in the manga thus things like this happen.

The only cannon thing was Kaido's character design, but that Luffy falling on ground and Killer being reckless is pure filler and never happened

usually not a fan of toei filler shenanigans but alot of manga readers were underwhelmed by the difference man beast form gave. this scene showed how much stronger it made him. The sleeping scene was a nice touch showed luffy has enough trust in zoro to sleep in front of 2 yonko

It's obvious why they would reveal kaids form now in anime.... so they don't have to make the anime onlys wait way longer than manga did cause manga took ages to show him again too, so imagine how long that would take in anime. It makes sense if u think about it. They didn't want to disappoint fans with so many eps without kaido so just decided to reveal the form a bit earlier but keeping the attacks for later

Once again khan, I hope you switch to manga soon, Its just better. Dodging the spoiler is much easier, you can have social media without being scared to be spoiled, you can react to one piece theories, you can talk about the manga while you're streaming without feeling anxious about being spoiled by a dumb chatter and etc. Being anime only put so much restrain on what you could potentially do in terms of content.

Lol nothing wrong with filler scenes and changing the order of scenes. You guys act like the manga is perfection and it's gospel that cannot be altered. If given the chance, many improvements can be made. Toei doesn't always improve on the source material but I'd argue more times than not they have made smart choices for filler and scene changes in Wano. This isn't a Toei thing or a One Piece exclusive thing either. People need to lose that mindset, no anime adaptation is a perfect 1:1, there's a lot of artistic freedom when it comes to the storyboard and so on.

Exactly, imagine this people when one piece still had those chill moments in the anime before time skip, if they were to do that let's say between arcs people would lose their shit, this entitled brats want the anime to be a slide show of the manga, ''man that aura wasn't in the manga it's not canon bro'' ''the anime sucks bro you should just read manga quick and let's hope the manga finishes as quick as possible'' and when manga doesn't go the way they want they complain a spoil everyone by talking about how disapointed they are

It really sucks when i come to Khan's OP section and see constant "i have to proof to you why anime/manga is better" comments. There are good sides to both as well as bad sides, Khan is obviously more into anime than manga (not just in regards towards OP), given the future circumstances he'll change to manga. For manga only's = he will read the manga at some point. For anime only's = he is still watching the anime and i am sure that he'll still continue with it even when he reads the manga. At the end of the day i am here to watch the man enjoy his favorite series but let's not be blind and just ignore con's and pro's to either side.

"You guys act like the manga is perfection and it's gospel that cannot be altered" A faithful adaptation that can improve upon the source material is what I think most fans hope for, 1015 did this, but we have to keep our expectations in check an episode like that took a long time to produce and it's unreasonable for an episode of that caliber to be produced all the time. That isn't to say though that when the anime makes changes that people aren't a fan of, suddenly means critics think the manga is the holy grail that cannot be altered, it just means they personally did not like the changes made. You make it seem like they're not allowed to have such a perspective lmao.

An adaptation isn't supposed to be 1:1 copy of the source. You make changes depending on how the story is flowing in the new medium. To expect otherwise is an exercise in futility.

No one's expectations should be set that high for a weekly anime, which is why I will not have a surprised pikachu face every time there's a flaw in the anime, and when I referred to critics, I was not referring to weekly nitpickers. The point of my comment is that it's weird to be persuading those who had a problem with the episode that it's objectively unreasonable for them to be having a problem with it. People have a problem Toei abandoned chronology, so what? I don't think that's insane at all, no matter how trivial you and I personally believe it is. I don't see how people can defend anime for putting shitty filler in scenes and changing the order of events xD also the "anime isn't 1:1 copy of manga" comment is bs, because why would you not 1:1 copy the best selling manga in history??? For me OP anime since Fishmen feels like DBZ where everything is so stretched out it makes me cringe... but there is no reason to push Khan into reading manga if for now he is happy watching the anime... just let him do what he wants

"I'm watching smth completely different than what Oda has envisioned" I guess that is true for some and not for others. The Carrot and Wanda scenes were not in the manga, but still were well done; i can see it playing out like that. Some others are more boundary breaking and that is up to the viewer how to accept it. Personally, i don't like the rearrangement of scenes, because that is definitely changing the handwriting of an author and what he intended.

Now people just going to be even more eager to want to see kaido and be complaining more each episode where they don’t show kaido :((((( before they showed kaido form this episode, khan was saying and accepting something alone the lines that other characters needs to be shown too and that main fights are usually the last to be shown :((( but now seeing his form, khan going to be “I WANT TO SEE KAIDO FAM”, “I DONT CARE ABOUT THIS” the next few episode again. If toei had not shown kaido form, people would be more accepting by now that we won’t be seeing kaido for awhile as oda usually shows the other fights first :(((((

Honestly I say just read the manga already. The “Man I should just read manga” takes will get old really quickly. If something like seeing Kaido earlier makes it a waste of time, it’s not really going to improve.

Technically he can not because on social media people talk about the next chapter spoilers and on Youtube those "YouTubers" also make Spoiler videos most of the time. Do not recommend that even for Manga readers.

Filler episodes to lead up to the movie, they usually do that with the movie releases. Not sure how many episodes though, Stampede only had 2 filler episodes of lead up before the movie release. Honestly it's gonna be real bad timing with where the anime is right now.

Since most people here talk negatively towards the Anime. I'm gonna write something good. Really good Episode and I personally enjoyed the Anime ride more than when I read the Manga chapters. Especially scenes WHICH are not Kaido vs Co. The other battles are 10x more interesting in the Anime and Toei also executed it very well. I understand the criticism towards like Art Style but so far this Episode was fire and I appreciate it. Wano Anime has been very great so far!

It is, but Khan is reading manga chapters of current episodes now, which means he’s going to compare the 2 more often. That’s only going to lead to more complaints, especially since the story is going to hop around different parts of Onigashima. Toei is bound to add more scenes or change the order of events.

Toei adapted the manga like complete garbage this last chapter. Shifting stuff around, mumbling up the direction and taking the impact away from where it should be. Khans issue with this episode was that Toei decided to make their own version of events and not respectfully follow what Oda did.

It doesn't matter where the scenes are placed. The scenes are always the same. I'm anime only and it didn't have an influence to my experience. We saw kaido even earlier than he showed up in the manga apparently, even khan was hyped about it and screamed the whole episode to show kaido

He'll have to eventually read it but switching now on these episodes that dont even contain any major fights would be stupid af. I don't care about shifting things as long as it's not terrible which it wasn't. Wait for the fighting to be over to get more episodes like 1017 and then make the switch

Toei can't follow the manga exactly because the episodes are coming out weekly. The manga comes out only every 2 weeks so they have to switch things around to end the episodes on good spots
