Do you want the Floral distillation Pot to be -

1. Countertop + live drag ( like the plant milk crafter) or

2. Floor Object with the pot on the floor/small pedestal ( like the mill)

Sims Diver

Err...what exactly did I just agree to regarding the floral distillation pot again? Is this an alternative perfume crafter mod like the one Simsonian put out a while back?

Boum

A big one on floor as it could be used for homemade alcohol some day 😏

BlaqCatt

I like countertop objects so I can customize my rooms and stuff

icemunmun

Oh this is something has been in my WIP folders for like 5 years lol..I turned part of it into my soap making mod. But now I want to take this up again and extract fragrance and essence and make essential oils, fragrance oils, perfumes, dyes among other things complete with skill and all. Will most likely like my mill but some parts may require the stove too like soap making

icemunmun

Oh Alcohol distillation with whiskey and stuff is a different mod whose basics are done already!

Coralynn Brewer

This is fantastic making our own Frangrance, essential oils and then sell them or keep and give as gifts.

Teresa Hild

I picked floor, but really doesn't matter to me! Thanks so much for all you do!

Sims Diver

Oho got it! Question I've got for you and all modders who do perfume/soap making: why the obsession with the stove? The current perfume (Simpsonian) mod I'm using does just this. Can't tell you how crazy it looks when I've got one of my sims making perfume in the kitchen. And his wife gets inspired and starts making one of your delicious gourmet meals on the twin stove right next to him. LOL. But from logical perspective, why not add the mod to another more practical base game object? Like a re-mesh of the science lab station? This seems to have all the right animations (mixing lab chemicals in flasks etc)? Or even an EP based on like the Cauldron for variety? IDK. But a do swear if any of my family simmes get a perfumed moodlet when chowing down on one of your custom recipes, I swear I'm going to have to smack the pixelation out of them. LMAO.

Sims Diver

Also another more practical reason for using a different (custom) object is to lower the amount of pie menu selection you have on the stove. Example: I've got SCCO which now works beautifully with all of your food/harvestables. And several other modders as well (Oni, Robin LBB etc). You made an excellent decision to separate out your custom food mods by using that spice rack object. But unfortunately, the other modders didn't do this. So the pie menu is turning into a bit of a cluster f@ck lol. i.e. when you try to find the soap/perfume making menu option v. custom food option.

Sims Diver

will this be compatible with ATS4 Sandy's liquor bottles/drinks since Sandy also uses the custom drink mod like your stuff does? Or does Sandy's drink CC need to be uninstalled to use your mod?

Boum

Icemunmun, this is fantastic!! Do you think you will make it compatible with Basemental’s mod??

Puking king

I picked the floor because we can only put so much on the counters.

icemunmun

The floor version can be an add on to the mill 🤔

icemunmun

I want the sims to make a whole range of stuff and wanna integrate them with the soaps too

icemunmun

Everything can be used together! Nonebof mine or Sandy's stuff conflict with each other

icemunmun

I made a separate soap making table for this. Will make a separate perfume station too if i do have extra steps for perfume...but most likely this distillation pot I am making will do all the work of crafting

Coralynn Brewer

The floor version would be ideal, I did picked the floor version but it wont except my vote. Maybe it's because I'm a Brindleton Bay pm.

icemunmun

All my patrons can vote...must be a glitch :( But I think I will make a floor version as a mill add on

Zipp

I was going to say what you said in the reply above, it can be added to the mill. The mill is already such a FANTASTIC object it does SOOO much and has sooo many options, it would be so streamlined when my character is making goods to work one machine instead of switching between two objects. I can't remember who made a little table distiller for perfumery, but 'add to the mill' idea, magnifique!

Toni Hawthorne

I don't have either of the two examples so I can't really visualize it, lol. Whatever is easiest for you or most challenging if that's what you like!

Boum

Yes!! I can’t wait to use them for soap!! I can’t stop hoping to get a cowplant milk soap someday too ☺️

Brianna Loyd

It would be great if the countertop items were all able to be placed even on cc counters and positioned, rather than only one item in the center slot, and if they could be put on bars and tables as well.

Sims Diver

Late to the party yet again. Lol. But what about associating this crafting with the science station instead of the stove? It seems all non food crafting mods are being associated with the stove. From soaps to perfumes etc. I'm totally ignorant of how perfume is manually crafted. But do you really use a stove to make home crafted perfume? vs. alternative means like a science work bench with chemistry junk (beakers, flasks bunsen burners etc). Or primitive if off grid like using a large cauldron/vat (works if sim is an occult sim as well) etc. to make perfume? It's just that--using the stove of all things--basically what ppl use to prep edible consumables. Lol

icemunmun

was going to make the distillation pot similar to the plant milk crafter or mill but the science table is a nice idea. Can explore that
