Suggest some different types/recipes of cornbread ( other than the plain one) and what can you pair it with ?

Plain and honey/sweet cornbread are the most popular. There are also varieties made out of white corn, and kinds made with spices like chili, cajun/creole seasonings, peppers, or jalapenos. I've had chili with cornbread baked on top like a southwestern take on a shepherds pie. Cornbread is usually made in cast iron skillets, but its super popular where I live to make corn muffins--usually fluffy, honey cornbread baked in muffin tins. And while I've never tried it personally, but I know people who mix honey/maple syrup and sausage in their cornbread for a breakfast variety.

Cheddar jalapeno, cheddar and chive, cheddar and bacon, cornbread with chunks of actual corn in it is another variant. My grandma used to make a whipped honey butter or whipped cajun spice butter to go along with our cornbread too.
