I foster dogs for my local shelter. One owner-confiscation was a young Dutch Shepherd recovering from broken ribs. He needed a place to recover while the owner was being prosecuted. The dog recovered fine. He was still a friendly kid, and adopted after the trial. The owner was found guilty of felony animal cruelty, and sent to prison. A modicum of justice.
