Machinarium ROUGH (Patreon)
Content
I will admit the notion of converting the absolutely beautiful art of Machinarium down to Game Boy form didn't actually deter me as much as I thought it would, that is until the previously mentioned replay I did (mentioned in the main demake post).
Paradoxically, or critical hippoery/hypocritically I believe I did the game justice to my current level of skill, but there's still more that I could have done... if that makes sense haha.
Truly to some degree, like the old saying goes "Art is never finished, just abandoned" which can come off as a bit harsh but it does ring true. Can only spend so much time working on one thing until you do have to know when to move on.
None the less, if there's one thing I can safely say I am happy with is the tile count. Most scenes are pretty easily 30-40 tiles under 192 tiles, which for a game that doesn't have any written dialogue and I can actually go up to 256 (which I get close to for the title screen and book scene)...not too shabby!
