Right off the get go, I just had to use the box art Myst logo! Such an evocative image, a person falling down through the sky, an island beneath (not included here because we have a 160 x 144 resolution, we're working with what we got). It really sets up the entire game I feel and what with Game Boy boxes being thrown away (argh!) or lost/crumpled, retaining that inside the game itself felt key.

I say this in the annotated raw sprite sheet (which will be up tomorrow!) that the bottom left screen ends up being my favourite and perhaps a reason for that is how it's probably the roughest of the rough in this line up!

It's interesting that for some demakes I can draw from a plethora of sources for cues but for Myst, I just studied the original and the various remasterings. I do wonder if I had stumbled upon the DS version of the game would I too have tried to include a HUD bar at the bottom, I'd lean towards no but at the time boxing in the game more would have probably made the demake look more period accurate (lord knows abiding cartridge sizes must have been a real headache!)

Like I said on the main demake post, this has been a valuable lessons in bigger scenes and look forward to putting this to use for future demakes!
