All this really happened, precisely as depicted here!

The envelope boys and I worked very hard to get you guys an October mailer, preparing 3300 mailers with three pumps of Amazon Brand Funny Fart Prank Spray each (that's 9900 pumps total).

Unfortunately, despite auditioning a few brands of plastic baggy to find the most leakproof, several did leak in the mail sorting process, alarming the sorters and leading to a number of awkward conversations with postal authorities who initially did not understand why I'd be sending an intentionally unpleasant odor to my supporters & customers.

Amidst all this tumult, the mailers were destroyed.

Perhaps this was for the best. I promise I wasn't trying to gross everyone out with a terrible smell--I figured the scent would mostly dissipate by the time the mailers reached you all and I just wanted it to smell like something for those brave enough to open the baggy and take a whiff. But I guess the cumulative stench of all 3300 freshly-sprayed cards was too powerful for the post office to withstand and they revolted.

I have learned my lesson. If I ever try to send an odor again it will be a delightful one, not a fart one. And don't worry, something (odorless) will be entering everyone's mailbox soon to make up for October's missing mailer.

Hahaha what a story! Glad you’re okay and not imprisoned???? Don’t worry about the October mailer - I like the spirit of it, and I can imagine what the fart spray smelled like.

I will miss not being able to savor Alan's spray. 😞

Not to get political... But I don't agree our government should be funding postal executions...

I am constantly in awe that this doesn't happen more. He's mailed the hair of a child, a phony enforcement ticket, bizarre coins and a postcard from a guy who is cutting off the circulation in his leg and says "I am not doing this for a sexual reason." I always wish I could know what the USPS thinks when they get these.

That spray was on my kids' holiday wish lists. If it's strong enough to take down the postal service, I can only imagine how that would go down in 5th grade.

Cynthia

I also can't help wondering what your apartment smelled like after 9,900 pumps?

Michael Swanson

scratch and sniff stickers in the future I guess. :)

This would’ve been such a funny one for my grandma to get in the mail😭😂

I forgive you Alan. The flames at the end of the film prove your intentions.

They are surely the flames of love

The envelope boys did not love this project. I made them stink for nothing

I got one and holy hell. Curiosity won. We only opened it for a quick second, but the smell just lingered around the whole office all day. Ended up having to double bag the whole card in ziplocks. It was like stale poop. The dregs of a portapotty. Taco Tuesday at a daycare. Well played, sir.

Kris

I love you too 💕

I have contacted the Innocence Project.
