Hey everyone! I guess last month’s Scaretober scare-themed mailout was spookier than I realized. A few local police departments got involved and some post offices threw the mailer right in the “too spooky to deliver” incinerator. Whoops! Honestly I didn’t think that mailmen read envelopes besides the address part.

Just wanted to do a quick check-in, do you guys prefer future mailouts to be less terrifying or 30x more terrifying? Whatever wins, I will abide by. Also, have you been receiving the mailers ok in general? 

Lastly: I just spent the last few days driving myself & everything I own from LA to Brooklyn and boy are my wheels tired. Thanks for being patient patrons as I get back in the groove of putting things out regular. And thank you for being a patron in general. I love you and everyone you're related to!

30x. My biggest request is don't post the mailer on Instagram until after the patrons receive them in the mail. Seeing it on insta first decreases the spookification by 30x.

I got mine in the mail but the top corner of the envelope was deliberately torn open so I’m guessing they wanted to see what was inside lol

I'm with everyone else. Don't change a thing. Those mailers are the highlight of my month. I do agree with the other person who suggested not posting them on Instagram. It would be an even bigger and better surprise. Maybe wait until 3 weeks after they're mailed to post.

I’m afraid I may never find out what happened to Thurgood. Have received all the previous ones though. I agree with posting well after mailing so it is a surprise to us Patreons what we receive.

Mine got through. My PO is probably on the small side and it's probably a little less informal than a bigger municipality, but the next time I see my mail person, I want to let them know that it's okay to deliver super spooky mail to my address

My local post office had no issues delivering this spooky mail. I did miss out on the magnets from back in July. I figured they got stuck in a mail sorting machine or something.

After seeing all the comments, it does seem like the postal workers may have been more concerned about the potential damage to the package as opposed to its spooky qualities. The envelope was intentionally ripped as part of the gag but I don't think they realize that when they were sorting through the hundreds of pieces of mail, they probably had to get through

As much as I personally would love more terrifying, I think it’s smart to maybe do a liiiitle bit less threatening. (Even though I absolutely loved the letter)

Mine came in a special “sorry we fucked your Mail up” baggie and had a corner torn off. My housemate brought in the mail and when I got home she said “that criminal sent you mail again.”

Mine never made it, but still: 30x. I will gladly sacrifice my mailers in the name of confounding postal workers. As a UPS driver myself, it gets boring out there. An exceptionally hilarious parcel makes my week.

Mine never arrived… and now every day my mailman stops, gets out of his truck and asks me if I’m “doing ok”. I say yes, he winks and slowly drives away while watching me through the rearview mirror.
