This is an idea for an AU where Serah decides to put Lute on trial and sentence her for an act she committed (I don't want to reveal what it is just yet, as it’s crucial to the future story). It was a grave offense for which she is judged by all of Heaven; meanwhile, Lute is still plagued by Adam's voice in her head, fueling her hatred. Serah intends to punish Lute severely but stops short of killing her, as she sees a chance for change; she decides Lute should face the same judgment she once meted out to others (like Vaggie), so she has Lute's wings severed. At Hell's request—specifically Charlie's—Lute is to be redeemed as part of the hotel project. Although Serah initially considers simply imprisoning her in Heaven, she ultimately decides to hand a wingless Lute over to Charlie, along with an object containing her power. Serah views Lute as an abomination, which explains her lack of "humane" treatment toward her. The final page shows Lute still tormented by hallucinations of Adam. This is all I’ve sketched so far; I’m working on it bit by bit since I don't have much free time right now.
