News! (Patreon)

[The image has nothing to do with the post except I drew it last night and quite liked it.]

Okay, I owe you all a blog post. I have one in my head and it's cute but I need to get my photos and videos sorted. Also, this past week has been a whirlwind. A couple cool news-related things while I gather my thoughts and get that post written.

1) I sold the Russian language right for The Book of Japanese Folklore. My thoughts on Putin can't be said in polite company, but if the book is in anyway entertaining, interesting, and/or educational to the people, I'm very happy. It's one of those big goals I've always had...to sell foreign language rights in some country. I remember reading John Scalzi talking about it with his books back in the 90s. So very stoked about that.

2) Even more stoke-age. Another book deal? Yes! This one is for the little ones (8-10 year olds) and I'm tickled pink about it. It's similar to the first one, but we'll see how similar. The dotted line will be signed soon and I'll get to talk with the editor. Per the contract, I have a couple ideas on how to proceed with it. One involves adding ghosts and real creation myth figures (Amaterasu and her ilk). It's still very new, but something to get excited about.

Thank you all, blog and some soothing sounds coming very soon! Everyone stay safe and well, XOXO,
