Real quick! 皆元気〜?
The next UJ episode is a reading of Lafcadio Hearn. The story is called "Readings from the Dream Book". It might feel a little archaic to some listeners, not you all, but I imagine someone will reach out to tell what they think. For me, though, I quite love what he's saying in these little "fragments of dreams" and number 8 gave me a zing with its relevance to **motions wildly at the world around me**
Anyway, I am still catching up on things, so I decided to do a Story Time for this next UJ show -- to go up in less than two hours, I believe. A "For Real" episode next time and I'm very much looking forward it, too.
I mention in this coming up one that we're going to start recording more relaxing, meditative, and sleep inducing sounds to be used as background for some shows and to put up here without my yammering on. Yesterday, we did just that.
The audio up there is 20 minutes of cool ocean waves on a black sand beach. Photo below. Note that the area is enclosed by a jetty and rocks. It's entirely enclosed and that makes it safe to swim in. One of the only (if not THE only) beach near me where you can go into the water. I've mentioned it before, but the ocean floor has a steep drop off and the riptides are nasty, I hear.
Question! Richard recorded another version where you can hear him walking slowly along the shoreline. Would you be interested in that? He had a good reason for it. There's a method of falling asleep where you imagine you're walking along, say, a forest and looking at the ground. You visualize everything you see, grass, rocks, flowers...It's kind of a mental distraction, but also calming and relaxing. R says it works well for him.
If you'd be interested in that version for sleep, let me know. I can put it up, too. Sweet dreams, おやすみなさい〜
