Little Video -- Butsudan Altar During Obon (Patreon)

Hey hey~I hope you are all well🍀. I had to do some taking care of a friend who had a bit of a medical emergency and doesn't drive. So the past two weeks, I've been out in the midday heat a lot more than might be wise and spending many, many hours in hot waiting rooms as well. That led to a case of the dizzies on one of my dusk walks and some serious thinking: I didn't bring my wallet. There is no way to identify me if I just collapse. What if I fall into that rice field right there? No one will find me for days...But I made it home! Rested and rehydrated. It took a couple days to get my energy back though.

...so, as you can tell from the video above, I'm a bit discombobulated and mumbly. So sorry about that😢.

I did find a cool scary story that a local shrine put on their website to introduce a haunted house (obake yashiki) they're doing. I want to read that for you all this week. Need to get the next episode finished and up first.

Oh, and the copy edits are officially done🎊🙌. Dark Tales from Japan is now out of my hands. I have some last minute table of contents changes I want to make, so I need to write a convincing email to the editor. But other than that I think it's a fun, strong, dark, weird, funny, and heart rending collection. I can't wait for you to read it! Two weeks until Legends of Japan (middle grade) comes out, too. I need to make some videos for that publisher. Okay, Iwas up at 4am to walk and feel I need a nap before, um, 9am. Think a quick tanuki nap is exactly what I need. Yes. Yes.
