OMG: Some Potential Awesome News (Patreon)

At this very moment I'm editing my reading of "Miminashi Hoicichi" ("The Earless Hoichi"). It's quite the famous tale in both English and Japanese. And it's the one I'm going to put up here first for a few days before releasing as a podcast. Next week, I'll record another story for only you lovelies.
That's not the news, the news is that I went out to lunch with an elderly lady-friend of mine and was telling her about me recording the story. She said that she knows a woman is travels around doing recitations of the story on the stage to big crowds. I said something like, "Man! I'd love to see and hear that!"
I've actually never heard the story in Japanese and because I'm becoming more and more intrigued with storytelling (up until now it's only been with how to tell a story - plot, character, tension...; now I'm obsessed with how to perform a story, dramatically with this voice thing, so to speak).
I woke up this morning to a message from her saying the woman will be performing "Miminashi Hoichi" next month at a venue near us. And I've got tickets!
Since my friend knows her, I'm going to see if I can record it using my 3-D binaural mics and have it as a little bonus for my $5 an up Patrons. Of course, it will be all in Japanese, but I imagine it will sound amazing even if you don't understand it. And if you DO know some (or a lot of) Japanese, then I bet you can pick out some words and phrases and that's cool, too.
Next month! I'm so stoked.
XO,
