It's about time for another Nana Fushigi / Seven Mysterious Happenings. I've been reading up on this one for awhile and went out a couple days ago to some photos and video. I didn't get to leave as early as I wanted, so the light was high noon and not very attractive. I'll go out again next week, early.

I wanted to share a short clip and some photos. It's a lovely little place that just happens to have a giant snake (or dragon depending on the translation) living at the bottom of the lake.

Also the first time I've ever seen an ojizo statued decked out in shiny necklaces.

In sad and extremely frustrating news, it looks like mountains of mail have been sent back from the States (and Australia, too), so they've stopped all outgoing packages. Postcards went fine, but they said expect them to take a long time to get to their destination. So envelopes are sitting here waiting (at least those for the States and Australia are). I'm so sorry. I'll get some more information and either send a message to the tengu and oni tiers or make another post here with the announcements. *sigh*

Stay safe and well, XO, more soon!

Loving the story so far, I am a big fan of Dragons (Western styalised Dragons because that's my childhood) . It's amazing that a lot of cultures have Dragon myths. Thanks Terrie it's wonderful.

Uncanny Japan -- Thersa Matsuura

I don't think I've delved into Eastern dragons as much as I should. This story and the daija / 大蛇 mythology has really piqued my interest. In the next segment there's some neat stuff that I had no idea about. I'm literally listening to the field recording we did that morning and going to put it up here for patrons in a few minutes. Richard said it first, but it's sooo flipping good! I'm back at the lake!
