Crow Frens Update Vol. (Patreon)

Well, hello there!
A quick update about the crow situation.
After what happened with my neighbor M-san coming over and brushing my peanuts (meant for my crows) off my little front wall, I felt it wouldn't be cool to continue to feed them from there anymore. I don't want to upset anyone. Neighborhood harmony and all. But I also want to continue my burgeoning crow friendships.
So I took my shenanigans upstairs to the VERANDA! Ha!
It's also on the other side of the house from M-san. Although the way the houses are she can see (if she were trying) the corner of the veranda which is prime easy-for-crows-to-see territory. It's been slow going. The big roughed up one (Dempsy) no longer comes. But I do get a morning crow that *might* be Sweet Pea. She caws at dawn and sits on the telephone pole and then I go out and show her I'm putting a couple treats out. Sometimes she comes over and hop hop hops around. Sometimes she'll leave it and come later. So I'm not sure what her thinking is. I left a little shiny bow out there as an experiment. I read crows like shiny things. But it was taken from the bowl and tossed aside. That could have been the wind. But I like to imagine her yeeting it to get to the food. Crow: "What's THIS THING?!"
As for run ins with M-san. I have deftly avoided them. Then one day there was a lot of noise coming from her yard and I had a peek. It looked like her and her daughter were spreading out this special Robber Proof Gravel.
My in-laws bought some once when their house was broken into. It looks like regular gravel (remember no lawns here), but it's really noisy when you step on it. Jari! Jari! The idea being it will frighten off someone who is sneaking around your windows or doors. Also alert you if you happen to be in a room near a window and someone is tiptoeing around outside. It is noisy. I helped my mother-in-law spread a couple bags.
Anyway, it looked like that is what they were doing. She does always use a steering wheel lock and when she leaves the house for even a short period she shuts the rain shutters, which most people only shut at night and we never shut!
Then I thought, maybe she's had some bad experiences in her life with thieves. But it did seem a little excessive. So I was sore about that, but whatever.
Then!
Oh, first, here's the Jari rocks. They're quite expensive.
Then! An hour or so later the doorbell rings and I answer to find....dun dun duhhhhn!
M-san standing there with a bag of pears (top photo). Nice ones! She just bowed nicely and said to keep them in fridge. So I thanked her profusely (seriously food is so expensive this really helps!). I come inside a little stunned, a little heartened. A little confused.Terrie's thoughts: Maybe she's embarrassed for her little bit of busy-bodiness and feels bad. Maybe this is an apology. Maybe we CAN be friends. So I brought them in, put them in the fridge.
Then I had another thought: below
ETA: As of this posting, I did eat one of the apple pears. I made a really good salad and chopped it up and put it in it.
It tasted wonderful.
I feel fine!
*knocks on wood* because so~ superstitious.
