For a part of the the next episode we went and sat inside a Doutor at noon and recorded. Or Richard recorded, I sat in front of him trying not to sip my tapioca and brown sugar iced coffee drink. The recording turned out really well. You can hear the strangely calming hustle and bustle of a Japanese coffee shop, people ordering, coffee being made, milk being foamed, sandwiches being unwrapped, chairs being scooted. And more!

This is a ten minute slice of noon kissaten. So grab yourself some coffee or tea or a matcha latte and put on those headphones. You're in Japan!

Bedtime Story is recorded but Richard is super duper busy working on the sound design for the next ghost story episode, and I don't want to disturb him at the moment. So I'll put it up here as soon as that gets done.

Postcards for September and October are in the mail ✉️🏣. So they are on their way as well.

Stay safe, please, everything is unhinged. I think I'm going to relive the coffee shop for a few minutes. Chill out some...٩(^‿^)۶

This is so lovely! It's interesting how it's similar but different showing from a cafe here. Thank you!!

Uncanny Japan -- Thersa Matsuura

I remember back in university I went through a very big This Mortal Coil phase and there was one song that started with babies babbling, no real words, but goo goo gaa gaa stuff. But I knew 100% they were Japanese babies, just some subtle difference. I kind of wonder about the coffee shop, too, I mean except for the speaking, is there just something that is very familiar, yet off?
