New Hybrid! || Hippogriff (Patreon)

Technically a revival of a old character! She was created back in 2018 when I was developing this crew of mythical animals. (I was honestly trying to explore more into mythology and grow to love creatures more than just dragons XD) The original cast turned into Teel'ryn, Inferna, and Halis. So I thought why not bring her back to her crew in some way! Still no name for her yet. We'll just call her "Griff" for now!

Now, who is she?

She is -well- a Hippogriff! A mythological Eagle/horse creature that are seen as the symbol of love and impossibility. In this case specifically, a golden eagle/ Percheron horse.  She's a side character during this story but she will have a more of a major role later down the line.

Her story

She is held prisoner within Malvolia's Black Market. This market is unknown to Halis. As far as he knows it's a building of Malvolia's where she allows Hunters to drop off Hybrids so she can judge them for Halis, especially if the palace is too far away for hunters to travel. To Halis' knowledge, Mal’s dealing with Hybrids the same way he is: capture, judge, release/execute depending on if they are feral or not. But when Mal gets Hybrids, she doesn’t release them at all. She’ll either keep them to sell regrowable features or kill them to harvest things that can’t regrow (ie pelts, fangs, bones)

Since Griff is an exotic Hybrid, she is held in an enclosure to be farmed of her mane and feathers, as well as to be a form of entertainment to visitors, like an animal held in a zoo.  When Teel'ryn becomes a prisoner like her (to be farmed of his fiery mane and antlers), she befriends him and tells him how to behave so Malvolia doesn't change her mind on keeping him alive. Griff aids Teel'ryn on his plan to escape, which ended up with them freeing all the Hybrids within the Black Market.

Later down the line, while Halis is seeking redemption and therapy, Griff and Boutong helps him on his quest, which will lead to a love story between Halis and Griff
