Chapter 780: Playing host (Part 1).

I felt my heart begin to beat faster and my body start to heat up. Having Fern here, in my arms, had quickly stoked my lust again. It’s hard to tell by now how much is normal human nature and how much it’s my… unique condition. I don’t live in a state of permanent lust, exactly, but the buttons for it to flare up are fairly easy to push. Having Fern here, in my arms, after… Huh, hadn’t even been a full week, yet it felt like a month.

It happens with the other girls, too. Sometimes they actively try to get me in the mood, and it works nearly every time unless I have to actively hold it back. Other times it just… sort of happens. One of them wears a nice shirt, or maybe their pants are form fitting and their butts look great… Really, they’re all so hot that it doesn’t take much. With Fern here, though, it was both that she’s beautiful and the fact that… things with her are new, which is a different kind of excitement.

“Um… I… don’t know how to casually bring this up, but…” Fern smiled awkwardly at me. “Remember how I asked you all to send me… video and pictures?” I nodded. “Well… I’m… r-ready to pay back the favor.”

Meaning… she was ready for the others to see her doing it with me.

“Are you sure? Even if we’d all be glad to, none of us will pressure you into it. Ask Diana. We waited until she was fully comfortable with the idea.”

Fern shook her head. “I… want to. I…” She pursed her lips, and I could feel her heart racing, could see her cheeks heating up. “If it’s okay… I… want to be part of th-the orgy,” she admitted. whispering those last words.

I wasn’t the only one with a lustful fire burning inside, and for Fern it was likely even worse. After all, I had been satisfying my urges without issue, but Fern had been waiting since our first date.

I nodded again. “It’ll be fun, I promise,” I said, smiling excitedly. Her resolve was clear enough. She wasn’t forcing herself to participate in an orgy, but pushing herself to admit that she genuinely wanted to. The embarrassment could’ve killed a person, so I wasn’t about to push back. Instead, I wanted her to know we wanted her to be with us, too. “I’ve told you that they like to watch.” I kissed her cheek and then her neck. She sucked in a breath, gripping my arms. “I don’t think we’ll be sleeping tonight.”

Fern shuddered. She smirked excitedly before taking a deep breath and stepping away from me. “But first… you have other guests, right?”

I groaned. “And now I’m tempted to kick them out…”

“Don’t!” she said, laughing and giving me a playful push. “Come on. If we keep flirting I’m definitely gonna lose my mind.”

Same, honestly.

We went out into the backyard together, where I saw Thomas, Kevin and Alex backing away from the grill as a woman I didn’t know fanned the fire in the grill with a piece of cardboard. That would make her Alex’s wife.

The charcoal lit up with rising flames. Alex’s wife stepped back and glanced at the three guys with a smug smirk and a hand on her hips. “And that’s how you do it, boys.”

“I’m no expert, but I think you lose ‘man points’ for needing a woman to light a fire for you,” Alice teased with the biggest smirk in the world. Beside her, Noelle was struggling to hold back her laughter.

“Well, you know… I nearly had it before you stepped in,” Alex said with a shrug.

“Sure, babe.” His wife chuckled, then her eyes found me. “Ah, Oliver! Thank you for inviting us.” She walked over to me and gave me a hug.

“No, it’s no problem,” I said, admittedly feeling a bit awkward. “Um… Carolina, right?”

“Ugh, that’s a mouthful. Just call me Lina,” she said cheerfully.

I nodded.

Lina was young, about the same age as Alex, really. Cute, slender and with long auburn hair, she was pretty much Alice’s older sister.

“Everything okay? Do you have something to drink?” I asked them all.

“Not yet. We got some beers and left them to cool in the freezer for a moment. I’ll go get them.”

“Ah, don’t worry, I’ll…” and she was already going inside the house before I could finish my sentence.

“Don’t mind her, she’s like that,” Alex told me, walking up to me for a handshake. “Has a hard time standing still.”

“I see you lost ‘man points’ already,” I teased.

“Look, we have a gas grill at home, okay? I’ve never had to light a fire.”

Soon, everyone was coming out of the house. Maria and Diana came carrying bowls of chips and other snacks, Mark came carrying a tray with empty glasses, Mila and Lena brought two 3lt bottles of soda and, of course, Lina, brought two 12-packs of beer in glass bottles because ‘they taste worse in a can,’ an opinion that already divided our group in half.

“I didn’t know people had an opinion on something like that, but I should’ve known…” I muttered.

“You work at a bar,” Mark told me.

I nodded. “And we serve beer from a keg, so I suppose I never stopped to think about it.”

Unlike yesterday, tonight we had fewer people. Seven guests including Fern and excluding Diana because she was part of the household already. Despite that, it was even livelier, or… maybe louder is the better word.

Even though some of the people here had never met, that didn’t get in their way to start talking with ease. Thomas told Alex we had just been to a friend’s debut boxing match and began to tell the story for everyone.

Really, the quieter ones were Noelle, Fern and I, which was expected. Once the fire was ready, though, I moved to the grill to start the barbeque, and the two quieter girls moved with me.

Chapter 781: Playing host (Part 2).

I began to place the cuts of meat on the grill, cuts which I’d prepared earlier in the morning trying to put into practice what Mr. Aliev had taught me. It wasn’t the cleanest job, but it was also my first time really giving it a try. Also, maybe Mr. Aliev had a point about getting better knives.

“I’m not good with groups this big,” Noelle slightly behind me. “I can’t ever seem to get a word in. Not that I have anything to say, really.”

“It’s the same for me,” Fern said. “Although… I do know a bit about boxing, but that’s just because of anime. I didn’t want to, um…”

“...sound like a nerd, right?” Noelle completed for her, giggling. “So you’ve watched Ippo?”

“Only like half of the first season, really. It didn’t grab me.”

“Yeah, I’m not really interested, either. I only like sports anime with cute boys,” Noelle said.

Fren chuckled. “I get that, but I do like when they have men with big muscles. Show how much the author knows about anatomy.”

“Oh, so you like them beefy?” Noelle playfully teased.

“I mean… not exactly…”

The two girls laughed, and I thought I sensed two sets of eyes on my back.

But really, I found myself smiling. I was glad they could talk so easily. Like me, they’re both pretty introverted, so I was worried.

“You draw, right?” Noelle asked. “How long have you been doing it?”

“Since I was a kid,” Fern said. “Only started taking it seriously like six years ago, though.”

“Is it hard?”

“It’s awful,” Fern said with a giggle. “You’re never happy with what you make, and if you continue trying to learn and get better, that uncomfortable feeling never leaves.”

I nodded wordlessly. Learning is a very uncomfortable process since you’re constantly putting yourself in a spot where you’re trying to do things you don’t yet understand. It’s a feeling you need to accept as a constant companion if you’re actively trying to learn a new skill, like a language, or a sport, or, of course, music and drawing.

“And… what about live streaming?” Fern asked. “That sounds even more difficult to me. What’s it like to have so many people watching you live?”

“Well… I cheat there because I use an avatar, so that takes off a lot of the pressure,” Noelle said with a nervous giggle. “And all I do is play games, so it’s not like I’m doing anything difficult. That said… it IS nerve wracking knowing that everything I say can be clipped and taken out of context. I’ve already been through a few minor dramas and one big one. I’ve been posting a lot less on social media because of it.”

“I’ve actually never seen your streams because Oliver hasn’t even given me your online name,” Fern said. “Can I see your avatar?”

“Sure.”

“Oh, it’s really tasteful. It looks very good. Who made it?”

The girls got into their own little world, and I was happy that they did. I looked back and saw them looking at Noelle’s phone, and I have to admit that they made for a strange picture. A short, clear-skinned redhead and a tall, dark-skin brunette was, aesthetically speaking, a shocking contrast. But again, I wonder how much of that thought is caused by my libido?

I turned my attention towards the table for a moment. The big group there was still having a good time. Thomas was telling stories and Maria and Diana were having their own, quieter conversation with Cake, surprisingly, on Maria’s lap while Red lay at Diana’s feet. And something that warmed my heart even more was seeing Lina hugging Alice from behind, with the younger girl leaning back against her with a big smile on her face.

“Happy?” Noelle asked me, grinning.

“A bit,” I said, turning back to the grill to flip the cuts. “After yesterday, I’m glad to see Alice smiling like that.”

“Ah.” Noelle understood. “Yeah, so am I.”

“Right?” I turned around and saw Alex approaching us. He seemed to have overheard what we said. “Alice already told me. Our dad caused a scene, huh? I’m sorry about that…”

I shook my head. “I turned out for the best, thankfully.”

“Yeah, Alice finally snapped at the old man. Seems like it’s the only way to get through to him, which sucks,” Alex said. “But just so you know where I stand here, she’s welcome to work full-time at my shop if she wants, but I’d rather she finished her studies first.”

“Like we told her, we’ll back her up with whatever she wants to do. She decided to continue studying, though.”

“I also think she should continue,” Noelle said. “At least, in the sense that having a degree couldn’t hurt.”

“She has the brains to do more than fix flat tires and change oil, unlike me,” Alex said, sighing. “So even against my better judgement, I find myself agreeing with the old man that she can be so much more.”

“You know better than anyone how much cars mean to her,” I told him. “Not just as a piece of machinery, but… the freedom and peace they gave her. The freedom and peace YOU gave her, Alex. You and her car opened up her world when she needed it most.”

“...” Alex groaned and rubbed the bridge of his nose. Or rather, he pretended to while actually rubbing his eyes. “Yeah, I get it.”

“Hey, Oliver! Can we use the pool?” Thomas asked me with a shout.

“Sure,” I told him. “Everyone who brought a swimsuit feel free to jump in.”

The night wasn’t as cold as others, and the pool should be lukewarm at a minimum, so why not?

Then it turned out that everyone brought a swimsuit. Wouldn’t be surprised if the girls had suggested it. But it’s better like this, isn’t it? What’s the point of having it if we’re not gonna use it?
