Chapter 821: Someone’s special night.

It had only been three hours since the start of our Saturday night shift at work and I had probably looked at the time on my phone at least 40… times. I let out a sigh as I returned behind the counter after serving some drinks to a table of two men and one woman.

“How does that look to you?” Diana asked me in whispers.

“Hm? Oh, I think it’s fine,” I said, subtly glancing at the trio and shrugging. “The vibe seems good, so nothing to worry about.”

Truth be told, we didn’t get as many trios or groups as I thought we would. Some, yes, but not that many. This was one of the even rarer two men and one woman groups, so I can’t blame Diana for being alert. But no, I didn’t feel anything weird there. Just a lot of arousal from all three of them, and I for one wished them a fun threesome.

“Then why are you so restless tonight, Oliver?” Dylan asked me, putting back a glass he’d just finished washing. “You’ve looked at your phone like 40 times already.”

I let out a low groan. “It’s just… not a great time to be at work today,” I told him.

For one, Fern was at the house and it made me feel awkward to be away. Inviting someone to your home and then leaving them alone feels rude to me, even if it’s for work. That said, I think leaving Fern alone with the other girls is probably the best move right now. Alice and Fern seemed a lot more comfortable with each other this morning, and that made me incredibly happy. So yeah, while I wanted to be home, this was for the best.

No, the real issue is that today is my good friend Thomas’ birthday, and it’s not the big guy that concerns me. It’s the three girls who didn’t look pleased that I had to work today. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get home quickly or if I’d rather not show up and wait for things to calm down. Diana seemed to be enjoying my turmoil, and I didn’t know she had that sort of sadistic side to her.

“Today is a sort of… anniversary for him, I hear,” Diana said, smirking. “So he’ll probably get an earful when he gets home.”

Dylan raised an eyebrow. “Not an anniversary between you two, then?”

I sighed. “Right.”

“You know, I’m starting to feel a lot less jealous of… whatever it is you have going on there,” Dylan said with a chuckle. “Anyway, can you cover me for a bit? I’m going to the restroom.”

“Sure,” I said with a nod.

I looked at my phone again to check the time, only now it was unrelated to me wanting to get the hell away from work as soon as possible.

“It’s already 8:00 pm,” I told Diana. “They should be arriving soon.”

“Everything’s ready, right?” Diana asked me. “You checked in with the kitchen?”

“Yeah, we’re ready.”

As if on cue, the door opened and another couple came into the bar. One was a gorgeous young woman of strawberry blonde hair that bordered on pink. She wore a revealing yet tasteful blue dress with a slit along the legs and a neckline that practically reached below her large breasts, had small diamond shaped earrings and a long necklace of pearls. Oh, and the guy with her was Thomas.

This was my and Diana’s gift to them. We’d be covering the bill for their dinner and drinks, though the room was on them. Now, my plan was to act perfectly professional, like they were just another pair of customers I’d attend to. My intent was to give them their space to celebrate their night without the awkwardness of being watched by someone you knew.

…

But seeing Thomas in a suit was way too fucking much for me and it would’ve been for anyone else. I had to make fun of him.

“Well, what do you know? You CAN dress decently if you try,” I told him as he and Maria walked over to the counter.

“Honestly, I feel like it’s wearing me more than the other way around,” Thomas said, grinning and trying to fix whatever was making his tie feel tight.

“And you?” Diana said, looking at her best friend up and down. Hell, Maria even did a little spin for her. She caught the eye of more than a couple of customers. “You went all out tonight, huh?”

“As one should,” Maria said, smiling confidently.

Diana chuckled. “You look amazing.”

“I want to agree, but I don’t feel right saying it,” I said, wincing.

“Yeah, keep your eyes on me, buddy,” Thomas told me, smirking as he as Maria sat down at the counter.

“Oh, like you didn’t ogle at the girls in swimsuits last weekend,” Maria told him. “It’s fine, Oliver. Feel free to look.”

“Okay, now I feel like I HAVE to…” The four of us laughed, keeping it quiet enough for everyone else. “We have a booth ready for you two. I can bring you your dinner here, too.”

“We’d like to have a drink here first, though,” Thomas said. “I know you two can’t drink right now, but at least join us for a minute, okay?”

“Rush hour permitting,” Diana said, looking around. We weren’t yet at full capacity, but the evening was just starting. “Then again, Oliver’s the one who runs around the most.”

The backdoor opened and Dylan came back from the restroom. At the same time, one of the customers at a table raised his hand to call for me, so I excused myself for a moment. Diana and Dylan would be able to make anything better than I could, so they were in good hands.

After I was done with the request for a whiskey refill, I noticed that Thomas and Maria had already placed their orders and our two bartenders were taking care of it. As I approached, a phone began to ring.

“Oh, come on…!” Thomas groaned. “It’s my cousin… I swear I’m putting this on silence for the rest of the night.” He sighed. “I’ll be back in a second.”

Thomas stepped out of the bar, and the moment he did I felt a chill run down my back. I had a bad feeling. There was no way he would…

“Here you go, miss,” Dylan said, placing a drink in front of Maria with that charming smile of his. “Your Lavender Collins. A beautiful drink for a beautiful woman.”

I swear I was about to kick him on the shin as my first reaction, and I even felt a sharp jolt of panic and fury from Diana. But you know who beat us to the punch?

Maria chuckled and kept a very easy and beautiful smile. “Flirting with customers on the job? A customer who’s clearly here on a date? With your boss watching? Ah, not to mention she’s my best friend, you know? And my date is Oliver’s best friend. Is the job so bad you’re looking to get fired?”

Dylan tried to awkwardly laugh it off, but his face went pale. We warned him his flirting was going to bite him in the ass one day, but I don’t think any of us expected it to be this way. Then again, everything I learned about customer service came from Maria, and the woman has standards.

As Dylan excused himself, I gave my old boss a smirk and a sneaky thumbs up. Even Diana felt that was enough and didn’t say anything else to the guy, holding back her laughter. Maria seemed satisfied with herself.

Chapter 822: And a special normal night.

The contrast wasn’t lost on me, you know?

For years, I had spent my birthdays alone, sometimes with only my mother as company since my sister went out to celebrate our shared birthday with her own friends. Then for my latest birthday, the new friends I’d made over the year threw a party for me, and I spent it with more people than I ever thought I would.

Thomas, on the other hand, always threw big parties for everyone for his birthday. It was practically an event that could’ve easily fit in the school calendar. Yet now he’d chosen to spend it alone with his special someone. They said they’d both be having lunch with his parents the next day, too. Weird how things turn out, huh?

“Hey, weird question,” Diana said as we drove back to the house after our shift was done. “Does it ever make you uncomfortable to think that your best friend is having sex?”

“Hm? It’s not THAT weird of a question,” I said. “And you know, there was a time when thinking of ANYONE having sex made me uncomfortable, but not anymore. If anything, I’m rooting for people to be able to have good sex, and I think that’s Frey’s influence on me. Why do you ask?”

Diana chuckled. “Because I think I’m the same. It used to bother me when Maria told me she was going on a date that I knew would end in sex. Not like I make a great comparison, but she had a more active love life than I did in university. Now, though… Like you said, I hope they’re having a good time.”

“I bet they are,” I said, chuckling. “Still, it’s not like I want to picture them doing it, so…”

“Yeah, me neither.”

“You brought it up.”

“I said it was a weird question! I needed to get it out…”

“That’s fair, I suppose.”

The closer we got to the house, the more my chest began to tighten. Thomas’ birthday was one thing, but today was the date of an even more important event.

It was exactly one year ago that things started between Mila, Grace, Sarah and I. Hell, it was the start of it all. Our first conversation, if you can even call it that, and our first foursome. Our first… time, really. My and Mila’s first times, too.

I wanted to do something special on the day itself, but the date ended up being a Saturday, which would’ve been perfect if not for the fact I work on Saturdays. The girls seemed upset when I left, so it’s been a stressful night.

We arrived home and waited for the automatic gate to open, but as we looked towards the house, we spotted something out of the ordinary.

“I think it’s the first time I see someone standing on the balcony over the front door,” Diana said with a faint chuckle.

And like I said, she seemed to be enjoying my turmoil, because the ones standing on the balcony, watching us arrive, were none other than Mila, Grace and Sarah.

“How nice of them to be waiting for you, huh?” Diana teased.

“Yeah… How nice…”

I really didn’t know what I was even in for. I know the girls are not unreasonable enough to blame me for having to work tonight, but I can still understand if they’re upset. I do sort of have a plan for tomorrow, if they want to, but…

We parked the car and got out. I looked up at the balcony… and saw Sarah pointing back towards the door with her thumb. They didn’t say anything else and went back into the house.

“Oh boy…” Diana giggled.

“Can I ask WHY you are enjoying this?”

“I just think it’s funny,” she said, kissing my cheek. “Goodnight, dear. See you at breakfast.”

She went into the house and I followed shortly after. I began to go up the stairs, thinking the girls would be waiting there or in my bedroom. Instead… I found three sets of shoes on the floor, leading to the stairs to the third floor.

“Um…”

I don’t know what it says about me that my first instinct was to pick them up, but I resisted it. Instead, I followed the trail to the stairs, where I found three sets of pants along the steps.

Ugh, don’t get your hopes up, Oliver.

I went up the stairs and saw the trail of clothes continue. Shirts and socks led to the music room, and inside the music room, right in front of the secret door, was a small pile of bras and panties.

I let out a sigh and opened the secret door.

Almost right in front of the entrance was the hot tub, and the three girls were already naked and bathing.

“Undress and get your ass in here,” Grace said, her expression neutral. And yet…

“Um… Am I in trouble?” I asked.

“Is there something you should be in trouble for?” Sarah asked me, and that made me remember something she once told me.

‘Never apologize for something you haven’t done,’ she said to me, and honestly, I felt pretty justified here.

“No, I don’t think so,” I said.

The three girls smiled. “Good, that was a test,” Sarah said.

“You’re not so tired that you can’t spend an hour with us in the hot tub, right, Oliver?” Mila asked me, grinning.

I let out a sigh of relief. “What’s with this pissed off act, then?”

“Diana texted us saying you were worried we were mad,” Grace said, grinning. “We couldn’t help but run with it for a moment.”

“I mean… you were pretty upset this afternoon…” I pointed out while undressing.

“We were,” Mila admitted. “But not with you. Work is work, after all.”

“We were just disappointed that we couldn’t have a big celebration of our anniversary of our first time having sex,” Sarah said. “Which somehow feels more important than when we started going out.”

“Let’s be honest, we were already going out after that day, we just didn’t want to admit it,” Grace said. “I mean, we stopped seeing other guys, spent almost all out time together, fucked every moment we had free time, went on dates…”

“I wanted to do something special, too…” I said, taking off my pants along with my underwear. “How about we go to the old hotel tomorrow? You know, for the memories.”

“Would be fun, but you don’t want to leave Fern alone here, right?” Mila said, giggling.

Caught.

“Please, she wouldn’t even notice. She’s been building and painting miniatures with Noelle all day,” Grace said.

I grinned. “Really?”

“Yeah, they were in the game room almost all day,” Mila said.

“We got permission for this, by the way,” Sarah said. “We asked the others if we could steal you for the night and they were okay with it.”

“Good to know.” I stepped into the hot tub and the girls quickly surrounded me. The warmth of their bodies and the warmth of the water was a little intense, but after coming in from the cold outside, this was heaven.

“I’m… actually sorry, though. I should’ve still tried to do something more for tonight.”

“No, it’s fine. It’s not like you always have to be the one responsible of these things,” Mila said, resting her head on my shoulder. “We wanted to make tonight special, too, but… It’s a little hard when every day feels so special. It’s been like that for a full year now.”

“Yeah,” Sarah said, kissing my shoulder. “You were busy and that sucks, but anything we could’ve done tonight we can do any other day of the week.”

“Honestly, I think it’s fitting, in a way,” Grace said, wrapping her arms around my neck and kissing my neck. “That night last year… It’s true that we did it on a whim. We let ourselves get carried away and did something crazy, but somehow it led us to where we are now. And I couldn’t be happier that it did. I think spending the night just… being together is right up our alley.”

“...” I took a deep breath and smiled from the heart. “That night is still somehow both the blurriest and most vivid memory I have.”

Mila laughed. “Right!? I can remember everything that happened, but I still can’t believe it actually happened.”

“And we’ve done crazier stuff since then,” Sarah said. “It used to be the four of us, now we’re eight. It’s hard to believe we encouraged it, but I’m glad we did.”

I smiled sheepishly. “And I’m glad you did, too.”

“Of course you are…” Grace said, smirking. “Now you get to have orgies with seven women.”

“And who know… Maybe more in the future…” Mila said teasingly.

I raised an eyebrow. “What?”

“Oh? Mila, is there something you’re not telling us?” Sarah asked, curious and excited.

“Not much. Just… Fern, Alice and I happened to meet someone nice the other day. Totally Oliver’s type.”

I swallowed. “Mila…”

“I’m not saying anything!” Mila argued. “The girls and I made a new friend, that’s all. Now, if you happened to meet her and she caught your fancy… that’s on you.”

“Got a picture?” Grace asked, smirking.

“No, sadly. But trust me… She’s hot. Like… almost Diana-level hot.”

“Oh wow,” Grace and Sarah exclaimed.

I sank down to my nose, fighting hard to push away the thought of meeting yet another woman… and how appealing that sounded.
