Hey Peaches! This was the first movie we realized we were looking forward to seeing but knew we didn't have time to go see in the theater, so we could do a reaction to it when it hit streaming. And here we are. We heard nothing about this movie after came out, positive or negative, which in this day and age is a good thing. Let's watch the Spangler family reignite the Ghostbusters business in NYC after a long hiatus.

I, too, call James Acaster by only his surname. No idea why. It was a fun movie, thanks for watching it!

This is one of my favorite movies of 2024 and I agree with you about it being a B- movie. Its main problem is that there are SO MANY characters, and quite a few (including Bill Murray) simply don't need to be there and they're just clogging up running time. Get rid of a few unnecessary members of cast (I'm still looking at you Trevor), expand the Garraka fight, and ditch the forced-drama of 'Phoebe's got the only useful Proton Pack but she's still hanging out in the basement for some reason'. Then this movie would've been B+ or higher!

This was super fun!! Agreed it's not the best movie of all time, would've liked to see a couple plot threads wrapped up more nicely, but this was a good time. And it was an original-enough story that I didn't feel like I was just taking another ride on the reboot/retool/replay train. I'm with you guys, keep making these films. McKenna Grace remains the heart and soul of this new run and she should take bigger strides forward in the story.

did you guys ever play the ghostbusters video game from 2009? If not it's pretty great and has a remaster.

Omg. Luke already been dead. That's such a killer story line. Damn. Ahh, just more star wars, please.

Unnecessary things I would've cut from this film: Slimer and the possessor ghost (neither of whom were of any significance to the plot), most of the conversations between the OG cast, a lot of the Lil Stay Puft bits, and probably the Firemaster stuff. There's too many characters and the cast could easily be halved. I say focus on mostly the new characters and have the OG cast just do very brief cameos. But overall, yeah, it's a pretty decent addition to the franchise.
