Rings Of Power S2E08 Watch Along

Adam hates this show so much. And I also don’t care if you like the show or not. I’ve had a ton of criticisms about it. But to me, you both just clearly don’t like it, and because of that will give it no benefit of the doubt. Whether it deserves it or not, but at this point you seem to just be looking for things not to like. Which is fine, I just hope you skip s3. Because I’m sure some people would be interested in seeing a show where you’re literally zoned out at times because of how much you don’t like it, but I only watched this watch along because it was the last one. I love you guys, but just skip the next season for your own mental health. The Penguin and D&W reactions were so much fun and why I subscribe. Just put this show in the past and move on from it.

It’s ok to not like something and to give your opinion about it. If you just always say that you like everything then people would complain about that too. The internet is going to internet. Just keep being yourselves. I honestly think they just have too many storylines goin on. And omg yeah I am so mad that little numenor punk didn’t get what’s coming to him, that is not something that should have waited until a later season.

Taken For Pomegranted

I'm so glad you guys said everything I was thinking about the show. I felt like I was going insane as I watched the finale, like I just wasn't getting whatever they were supposed to be showing. I enjoyed the first season for what it was—not perfect, but it was enjoyable. The entire plot with Arondir and the humans of that town should've been dropped. He could've died like a badass at the end of season 1, but instead they forced us to watch him and Theo do fuck all. It was ridiculous. The not-hobbits-yet plot could have also ended in season one with how little they actually did with them. Gandalf finding a staff and his name is not 8 episodes worth of plot for him either. I'm not some diehard LOTR fanboy, so maybe I'm in the wrong, but it felt like Numenor could've easily been completely cut from the entire show in favor of it being its own limited series in the vein of Game of Thrones in terms of political intrigue. Nothing they did with the plot for it lived up to the gravity of the situation and its effects on the world at large. Bite size chunks of content in the city every few episodes was nowhere near enough to build suspense and momentum. They tell us the usurper king is the villain over and over, but his son is just kind of annoying. This finale was exhausting lol.

I think Jay hit the nail on the head with this one. Cant wait for a FixIt on this show.

Okay, yeah. I think you guys should skip Season 3 since neither of you seem to like the show or the story they're telling. I agree with some of your criticisms but massively disagree on others. Anyway, not going to argue. I'm loving this show, I'm loving what they're doing, and I enjoyed this season 2 far more than House of the Dragon's. But I don't want you guys to feel like you HAVE to do it.

Bee-Tea

The squinty eyed looks on both your faces was enough to tell me that this show did not deliver. I agree 100% on your assessment of this season and only watched it because you guys did. I won’t be heartbroken if you don’t react to S3.

Tyler Joyce

Oof. Agree to disagree on it being entertaining. Not gonna argue much, you're allowed to dislike it, but having a season where the good guys lose is just like having a movie where the good guys lose - heard of an indie film called Empire Strikes Back? This show is slated for five seasons......are they supposed to eat cookies and celebrate an easy victory at the end of each one? 😅

Freeman25 4ever

I actually enjoyed this show from the beginning, im not gonna read the books, i rather watch this. yes its not perfect but this is dang better than vox machina or Bluey, fudge that shit..

Freeman25 4ever

But they Both Hated it So what's the Point.

Nate

I really enjoyed this season and the show as a whole so far so it’s too bad you guys clearly do not. Looking forward to watching all your other reactions I love and enjoy where Sauron the Deceiver isn’t pissing off Adam the Vibe Killer

Henry Wallace

I really wish you two skipped the show. Nothing worse then watch two reactors you enjoy hate watching a show just because
