I'm 100% with Ellie. I understand Joel's choice, but he was wrong. After she gave him the chance to come clean on that walk back into Jackson, when she clearly knew, or at least strongly suspected, that he pulled her out of the hospital, he betrayed her trust. It's no wonder why she doesn't want people pulling their punches, or taking her off of runs, or defending her honor...she keeps having people make decisions for her and take away her autonomy.

Yes, they knew she would die, they explained there was no other way to get the material they needed. The process would kill her. But Joel couldn't let that happen, not after his own daughter.
