Cheers to Jessica Lee Gagné for her directorial debut

Debbie

Did you guys miss that Gemma walked past the "Cold Harbour" room when she left the dentist? I thought you'd say something lol

Debbie

The guy who tortures Gemma in all the rooms is not an Eagan (as far as we know) he just wears disguises and pretends to be different people.

Jamie

The technical features of this episode are incredible. The shot that goes from MDR to the basement through the electrical cables is all practical, not CGI. Also there was so much color in this episode, the first time we've seen spring in this show where it's perpetually winter. The transitions from OG Gemma to Lumon Gemma are chilling. Really great!

Nancy

For the trombones, I think it may be because "trombone" is French for "paperclip", which I love :) All the little hints and details in the opening are so fun!

Robert

Don't think you caught the creepy Dr walking past them as soon as they left the counter at the fertility clinic (he was coming out of the hallway, next scene they were sitting down looking at the little girl doing the intake form. Also, he was played by Robby Benson... late 70's early 80's "teen idol". Makeup did a great job creeping him out (that and his acting of course).

Watching you go through this is incredible, and I’m catching so much more each time I watch. As hard as it is, each watch is so so amazing and moving and gives so much more because you catch so much more. The intentionality of this show is stunning. This episode is so heart wrenching and yet another piece of television that will be ranked as one of the most incredible moments in tv history. This show… this cast…. Every single moment, every single performance, every piece of cinematography, every composition, every line is intentional, difficult, nuanced, and filled with meaning. And it’s FUNNY. Along with being sad and impactful and full of commentary and rage and righteous message.

On a weird cinematic note that I saw right from the beginning of season 1 - every single shot has an element of severance. It’s either split down the middle or top to bottom or in thirds either horizontally or vertically. It’s completely intentional. The entire screen is severed in a very clear way in every single shot.

The home they filmed all of the scenes of Mark and Gemma’s past was the home Jessica Lee Gagné had rented for Season 2. Makes a lot of sense that it looked so good on camera.

I know this is late, but...Ugh. Every Severance reaction video I've seen completely misinterprets the crib scene, and i dont know why. The comments are always that he's struggling to assemble the crib for some reason.... the whole point of that scene is he is taking APART the crib because they have come to terms that a child isn't coming. He's mourning and upset while he is doing it, she is feeling guilty and feels some of the anger is towards her. And also, the script in the Allentown room echoes what they said to each other before she left the night of the "car crash".

Ian

She is also a guest on the official podcast for this episode!
