I liked this movie. Sam Rockwell gives it 150% in anything he's in. The film overall is definitely polarizing, though.

As the credits crawled I noticed something neat, the Stark Expo Fight Sequence design was credited to Genndy Tartakovsky. Samurai Jack and the original Clone Wars animated series.

Best I can determine, the new element is standalone, and not meant to be vibranium, adamantium, or otherwise. The MCU Fandom wiki quotes a comic that says Tony attempted to patent it as “Badassium”; otherwise, never comes up again.

So accoring the the wiki, the metal was called Vibranim in the novelzation (and maybe the script) but it was later retconned not to be

TIL: The screenplay was written by Justin Theroux, who we last saw trying to marry Lydia Deetz in Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice. He also wrote Tropic Thunder.... That's like Carrie Fisher level of underground screenwriting.
