Love how much the character of Stan gets recontextualised in this episode. We get why he's so focused on making money. Also why he was keeping it all a secret. Both to keep the kids safe but also probably feeling quite guilty guessing by his looks when he thinks noone can see him. And always here for the meta jokes. Some people did in fact guess the existance of a secret twin sibling "like a year ago" (many thinking it would be a sister because of Mable/Dipper). There are a few hints, like Stan finding Ford's glasses in the secret body-swap-carpet room. But to pivot them away from the solution, Alex Hirsch made a fake leak of a studio screen showing a young McGucket writing the journal with 6 fingers. He annonymously uploaded it to a forum, deleted it shortly after it got some views, then posted from his own Twitter page "So mad right now" or sth like that, to make it more believable. The internet did the rest. And that way kept the mystery hidden for longer.

So glad you guys enjoyed the second half of the big reveal! Also, not sure if you got to hear it during the original watch but I love that Stan originally names the Mystery Shack as "The Murder Hut" and then had to change it.
