Fully agree about Venture Bros, awesome show that works much better now that you can binge it (and they got to make an animated movie that wrapped things up). You can see how the show inspired stuff like Gravity Falls, Rick and Morty, Archer, and the Harley Quinn show

I was sorry to see that Adam (like many of the 12 year old boy watchers back in the day) was disappointed that Dipper decided against being Ford's apprentice. If you go back to Dipper and Mable VS the Future, when Ford asks Dipper about his plans for the future Dipper already has a well thought out plan to go to college, his specific major, and his eventual creative endeavor of his own ghost hunter show/podcast etc. Ford completely ignored that and offered the apprenticeship instead because he misses his brother and wants a substitute in Dipper. Can you actually imagine Dipper as Ford's apprentice instead of going to high school or college? Living in the basement of the Mystery Shack for all of his teen years? Where would he get any socialization skills? Where would he actually learn cinematography, production skills, and the things he would need to actually create and produce his own show? Which remember, WAS his actual dream. Dipper is very susceptible to hero worship. He got caught up in the moment and agreed to the apprenticeship, but it was NOT in his own best interests. He would have ended up like McGucket. In a way, Ford asking Dipper to be his apprentice instead of going to high school or college is a lot like Stan expecting Ford to give up college dreams to sail away with him instead of going to West Coast Tech.
