Hey Peaches! With the sequel recently hitting theaters and doing extremely well, we thought we'd check out the first Zootopia. Which Adam has never seen, but Jay has seen chunks of it many, many times thanks to his kid. Watch Adam marvel at the pure craftsmanship of the script as it deftly handles the metaphor in a way that kids would, thankfully, never get.

The Weasel was actually played by Alan Tudyk. I remember thinking it was Steve Buscemi, too. Also, a little trivia, Gennifer Goodwin who plays Judy Hopps and Josh Dallas who plays the pig that gets his flower shop robbed, are married in real life. : )

The Chinese animated film about Ne Zha has actually become the highest grossing animated movie at over $2 billion. I haven't gotten around to watching it, but I've heard it's good

Such an incredible movie. Fantastic world building, great bits and perspective, fun well rounded characters, great message, always very topical. The film about prejudice works because Judy has her own, even tho she fights so hard against the prejudice others have against her. And what I love is, them being animals is part of the story and message. It's not just because "animals funny" or "kids love cute animals". While still making them very funny and cute. The environment artists getting to have fun with the logistics of how this world would work.

the newscaster changes per region, since I live in canada, I got a moose lol

I see you caught the "Let it Go" nod to Frozen, how about the Duke Weaselton one? Cracked me up first time i saw this. Also, Jay-nicely done catching the Blueberries! I too find myself guessing correctly due to movie context clues. Too frequently TBH. I love when a movie surprises me! Ex: Bodies Bodies Bodies. Maybe watch that one around Halloween 🎃

Bahahahahahah I’m so glad you got the Woolter and Jesse reference. When we saw this in theaters my husband and I were fresh off a BB watch and were CACKLING Also, the weasel is Alan Tudyk, aka the Duke of Weselton from Frozen. So. And I am SO glad you’re watching this film. It feels especially needed right now, along with its sequel. Similar to Dunk and Egg, We need good people standing up for the innocent instead of people who pretend to be good. Nick and Judy are those people, along with Dunk and Egg.

He also has a cameo in the sequel ❤️ Oh man I would love to see these guys watch Once Upon A Time, which is where they met. And is also an EXCELLENT SHOW.

It’s true that it changes by country, but here in the US I also have a moose. Because there are lots of moose in the US as well. 😉

The blueberries AND the recording pen?? You're too good, Adam. I love Zootopia so much. Whenever someone tries to pull the 'it's just for kids' card for something like the Mario movies, I think of this. A fun animal detective movie in a city of talking animals... that tackles racism, prejudice, literally weaponizing prejudice, and (especially in the sequel) societal inequality. Movies for kids don't have to be 90 minutes of colorful keys jangling.

Really enjoyed sitting down and watching your guys' reaction to this one. Zootopia is one of my favorite disney movies and I really appreciate how they told the story. Glad that Adam enjoyed it! Excited to watch your reaction to the 2nd one.
