pike is lost to grief pretty clearly here, which is why self-care after trauma is so important

They've been setting up this decision from pike for like 2 seasons at this point, if it had been out of nowhere then I'd get Adam's reaction but this has been a long time coming. And it's not just about bringing people back, the Everlight did abandon her, and she's been through hell this season. Everyone she loved either died or abandoned her, and a master manipulator archlich is telling her everything she wants to hear, clearly it's the wrong decision but I completely get why she made it.

I think that's the important thing here to take notice. Obviously from the audience point of view in the moment, like Adam, can see that the decision in front of pike is a bad one, but that's because we aren't grief stricken, losing faith, and feel abandoned for a whole year from friends and a god. So, when someone gives you a legitimate showing of "I can fix everything", then yeah even just taking the time to think about is an easy option. That's why for me, the story being told is one I can follow and makes sense to me.
