I think the reason for the cat is also to show that Bear is irresponsible (how did the cat get into child proofed pills that belonged to a dead woman?), inconsiderate, and will avoid any blame. also seemingly bear used the sleeping pills on Nikki (she didn’t wake up, real Nikki was able to come out and bear mentioned to Sara that he had the pills in his pocket)

Ultimately, it was a love story, not a romance! (REMAINDER OF COMMENT IS SPOILER TERRITORY) Also there could be more wishes gone wrong, but the one wish willow is not inherently evil. The money showed up without harming Ian, and the cashier seemed content with his wish. It was because the wish itself goes against nature and was imposing his own will on someone else. My bf’s and my theory was that both cashiers were the same person and the wish was to transition which doesn’t have any real proof but Also my guess is that the incest story was because real Nikki only saw Bear as a brother. Maybe that aspect of her real personality mixed w scary Nikki game through in her writing
