Hey Peaches! Rhaenyra has the thrown, but that, seemingly, was the easy part. Now she has to rule. But how can she lead in a just and horonable manner like her father when everything and everyone is against everything she tries. Granted, she makes a couple of personal mistakes with allies. But the whole system seems rigged against her.

To answer Jay’s question the Hightowers are around in GoT (more in the books) and are still quite powerful. Margery and Loras’s mother was a Hightower as was Jorah’s ex wife (in fact they are sisters). The Velayeions are also around but significantly less powerful

And they made it the Queen's time of the month. Give her a break! Also, Rhaenyra was also pretty mad that she didn't think of dyeing her Strong boys hair white...

And Tumbleton is one of the easternmost cities in the Reach, about 180 miles from King's Landing (So equvivlent of NYC and Boston or Baltimore)

So, as a woman, I felt so seen by this episode. She’s not necessarily going mad — she’s exhausted, she just got back from being away and is finding out that her replacements all screwed up the logistics while she was gone, she’s grieving her son, AND she’s on her period? Yeah, I would only feel rage, too. (And literally every person who has had a period recognized her posture on the throne during the petitions and at the council table. Those cramps had her in a LOCK.) Also, seeing a beloved person out of the corner of your eye after they’ve passed is real. After my little brother died, I saw him everywhere for awhile, only to take a closer look and realize it wasn’t him after all. It sucks. I also have a different take on Corlys, though at first I was with you guys on it. After reflection, he ignored his sons for years and only now is wanting to acknowledge them — while denying that he actually has a perfectly good heir right there in Baela! He’s doing exactly what all of them have done, including to his own wife, and passing up a strong female heir! And Rhaenyra has a point: if she lifts up a bastard to heir right now, as she’s bringing in her last surviving kid from her first marriage as heir, those whispers will get even stronger. She has to be more secure on her throne before she can even think about legitimizing Addam and Allan. Sidenote — it’s hilarious that neither Daemon nor Rhaenyra paid enough attention to her third half-brother Daeron to remember that he has dark hair and resembles Alicent, which we see when he is briefly shown in the first episode of this season. The only reason HE doesn’t have bastard rumors flying around him is because he has a dragon.

Her “fuckin’ cramps” posture on the throne and at council — deliberate choice and I felt so seen 😅 Literally everyone who has ever had a period recognized that way of sitting

Oh nooo, you have to see naked men in the show sometimes. Must be so annoying to see the gender you're not attracted to on the screen so often, lol.

Jen Smith

Preach! I will ride or die with my queen of putting up with the all the bullshit

Nate

They did a better job in this one episode than the whole season 8 arc for Dany

Stephen Morris

you guys keep misgendering the actor playing Rhaenyra.

Stephanie Krutsick

They may not know. Adam and Jay — Emma goes by they/them pronouns :)
