Hey Peaches! Is this the show of the year? Cause this episode featured two GL's talking about being GL's and aliens all while being in small town Nebraska. It felt other worldly and grounded at the same time. Plus we're jumping through time, and have multiple mysteries afoot.

The child actor you guys recognized is the main kid from Weapons.

@pReview'd Did you guys notice the line of bullet holes behind the young Jon, like a messed up height thing that most parents do? So he had been doing that to Jon for years

Keri Stockman

And Spider-Noir! The fast-talkin' street kid!

Jen Smith

I love the seriousness and gritty aspects of this show, but I can only see Dipper as the lawyer. If Mabel shows up I’m dead! Hahahaha!

Reece Hart

I really hope the rest of the season is as good as that first episode. Green Lantern fans have been suffering for so long we deserve a win

Garret Dilahunt is just a well preserved kind of guy. He is 61, Jason Ritter is 46. So they are about 15 years apart in age. In Nebraska? That might be marrying age! :D

Great show, u guys think were gonna go back in time and find out what happened or its just a detective story from there and find out what killed him, or a little bit of both?

David Crabtree

They better be bringing back Hal Jordon to life somehow, or fuck James Gunn. Let's kill off THE Green Lantern in the first episode. Fuck off James Gunn.

Not knowing anything about Lanterns other than the memes after the movie, Guy in Superman and you often making references to it I don't understand, this rules! They very much hooked me with this episode. They managed to catch me up with the world and mechanics enough to get it, without it feeling expositiony, while it's all character focused. Btw, sound levels are perfect now. Same volume for intro and watchalong, and same as the show.

They introduced the backing up a consciousness in the ring in the first ten minutes. Let them cook, there’s probably a plan.

It's also very possible that we'll spend much more time in the 2016-2025 time range. You think someone as willful as Hal is going to let something like his witness/suspect blowing himself up stop his investigation cold? The Macons and the sheriff are heavily motivated by fear (with some hefty suggestions of overbearing money-lending practices and paramilitary rage) so that's also fertile ground for teaching John [really the audience] about the great adversaries. Then there's cloning (established in Superman) and shapeshifting to consider.

The majority of this story will take place in 2016, w/ flashbacks to 1996 and the present (2026). If you watch the Lanterns podcast (also on HOB and/or YouTube) you can get an inside look w/ the showrunner and writers of the pilot episode, and how they crafted the show, and where the ring is.

There's a 15 year age gap between Dillion and Jason. Given that it's Nebraska, you could say it's feasible that he is his father.

Cameron

Never been the biggest GL fan but I love the actor they got for John Stewart. He's got great screen presence.

What if that is not Hal at the end? Could be an alien.

Chris K

I'm not fond of Gunn's Superman movie, but this show really feels like it has a plan. I'm suspicious that that's actually Hal at the end. Plus, Hal's died before.
