Like Ted Lasso said to Jane and Beard, I think applies to Wille and Simon. Their baggage just matches right up. Marcus not seeing Simon's indifference to him, is just sad. Even though I don't like him. I love Wille and Simon, I love them apart and together. But when they are apart, they are both very good at playing the hurt party. Both are the reason they aren't together. Wilhelm for changing his mind after being railroaded by his mother on the way back to the castle and giving the statement when he said he wouldn't. Which is his right. But it's also Simon's right to be hurt by that and not only break up with Wille for that, but for Wille wanting to keep him as a dirty little secret. Okay, now on to this episode. There have been a lot of scenes in other episodes where I'm watching and like, this isn't a good color on you to Wille. Like when he demanded the truth about the drugs from Simon (even though Simon wasn't innocent either) and seems to imply Simon should take the fall. Wille was very aggressive and it was the first time we had really seen him like that to someone. The fight in the beginning he wasn't even aggressive, he was cornered and thought that was his only way out. But Simon in this episode played the cheated on boyfriend when that wasn't what happened. He broke up with Wille and moved on. Him getting mad at Wille for doing the same (we know it wasn't that but Simon didn't) was childish. Like, I don't want to play with my toy but it's still mine and you can't play with it either. This episode really does to me seem like Simon wants Wille, but if he can't have him the way he wants him (open and honest) then he wants him begging for crumbs from him. Like any attention he give Wille is to be savored by Wille. Dancing in front of Wille just to hurt him and I think that's what he was doing, was a dick move. It breaks my heart every time I watch the scene and Wille says "I have to be okay." Like, he's finally decided that he can't live like this anymore, it was destroying him even more, that he can't break down again. I've seen other people say that they though Wille was trying to play a game when he was being nice to Marcus. But I like that you saw it was just Wille trying to get to the other side of this mess he's in. His heart is shattered (yes, partially his fault...75 percent his fault, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have feelings) and he's decided to fake it until he makes it. Fake being happy, he's done it for his whole life in pictures in the public, now he's trying to do it here. Sorry to ramble and vent. I just see lots of people fully blaming everything on Wille, but never fault Simon for anything. When confronting Simon about the drugs, Wille was a jerk but Simon did steal the drugs and blackmail August to sell them, that's not innocent either. I'll end this now. Also, I don't really feel bad for Marcus for the Wille kiss because Simon told him that he wasn't ready for something serious and tried to end it. Marcus was the one that ignored that and was like "okay, I'll wait, now lets always be together now." basically. As for the outfits, yeah not my favorite look on any of them except Felice, she was gorgeous in her dress with her own hair.
