The Gymnast, Part 4.5 (Patreon)
Content
While this story takes place before The Gymnast, Part 5, it makes more sense to have read that story first before reading this prequel to it. sounds weird, but trust me on this one.
This was also the big hurdle of the month at a whopping 13k words. Expect a new Consensus chapter shortly, as well as more Galatea 2 and a wrap up on the Control comic!

Her name is Simone Biles. She’s recently taken to a life of solitude, creating an entire planet all to herself so that she can become a humble farmer, living off the land. Terraforming was the easy part, she simply used her intense strength to literally move air and atmosphere from some random earth to her own, creatively using subtle drums of fingers on the surface of the planet to generate accelerated tectonic plate shifts within the planet’s core.
It’s a quiet life, one of solitude. But that’s what she believes she deserved. Anyone else who gets in her way would be little more than cannon fodder. All she can do is hope no one tries to make an example out of themselves. So far, it's been pretty chill… but she has a feeling that’s not going to last long.
Right on cue, she hears someone knocking at her door.
“Um… hello?”
Simone opens the door to see legions of superheroes and even some villains lining up around the house like they’re going to literally fight it. Of course, they know what Simone is capable of, so they don’t skimp on the numbers. One of them is up front and is wearing Blue and Red, one Simone is familiar with. Next to him is another version of himself, who somehow tries to be the most compromised of the group.
“Miss Biles, we heard you removed something from another Earth and we’d very much like to know what you’re doing alone by yourself?”
Her eyes fall tired. She’s heard this exact threat before, his words falling on deaf ears.
"Look, fellas, I'm sure you're very angry or whatever, but please, some of you are stepping on my wheat grass. I need that for a successful harvest."
Having said her piece, she shuts the door on him. As she walks away, however, she hears a knock on the door again. She rolls her eyes and opens it again.
She instead witnesses a large man with armor waving around a hammer talking about honor and plight and not ignoring challenges. She then closes the door again. She knows they won’t leave her alone, but some part of her wishes this confrontation doesn’t lead to where it always defaults to.
Some person or creature of sorts rips open the top of her house, attempting to grapple her with its massive hand or other appendage. However, it would not behoove the author to describe this character, because Simone swats the being like a fly with a lazy backhand and they're out of her sight by the time she looks over her shoulder. Where did they go? Who knows. That's just what happens sometimes when she doesn't regulate her strength all the way. Perhaps their atoms are splattered across the multiverse, perhaps it simply removed them from existence.
Either way, the top of her house is exposed and now a bunch of inconveniencing asshole superheroes are piling in. She guesses she can't just shut the door on them anymore.
The fight begins. The opposing force is immediately put into a disadvantage as Galactus is hurled away like nothing, cutting a path through anyone foolish enough to be in his way. She starts taking them out in droves. It's effortless to her, dispassionate. The same crap she's been doing for a whole year now. Simone doesn't even register 99% of the faces she mows down with a finger torque.
"Alright, pause. Let's make this more interesting."
She doesn't expect them to listen, so she pauses them for her. Reaching outward, she grabs ahold of the flow of time and grips it tightly in her palm to stop it from progressing forward, freezing everyone in place. Now, the only people who could possibly threaten her are time lords and other manipulators of the sort. At least then, It'll be more personable.
"Whoever can still hear me speak, now's your chance to make history."
Her words fall on several frozen ears. But some are able to move around, albeit slowly because of the hard grip Simone has on…existence. They couldn’t understand it, but attempting to explain Simone is a harder battle to win than actually physically fighting her. They shake themselves out of the trance that Simone has over reality and head down to confront her. Some are powerful time wizards, some reality manipulators, some who have powers over multiverses. All ready to confront this woman now they don’t have to hold back as much and hurt the others.
"Alright, let's see here, about twenty of you. There we go, that's more like it."
Gripping time tightly in her left hand, Simone’s now down a limb, as if that's ever stopped her before. She springs into a gymnast's stance, doing a one-handed front cartwheel to move faster than expected, physically turning the planet under her so she can be closer to the first victim. A double-footed kick is overkill, but at this point so would a pinky toe. Whatever, it doesn't matter, Simone saw him step on her flowers, now she steps on his soul.
Two men approach her from either side. One looks slightly tougher, so Biles zeroes in on him first, though the man not focused upon doesn’t last much longer either.
"Here, hold this," she says to the weaker guy, handing him the time in her hand. Simone adds a finger's flick of force to it, so that when he grabs it, the momentum ages him into dust beyond dust. Fortunately for her, he holds it just long enough so that she could chuck the other guy into the sun fifteen universes over.
Reacquiring time within her grasp, Biles notices a particularly frightening foe. At least, he’s visually uncanny, so he’s got that going for him. All the other men attacking seem to agree, standing aside and letting this being duel Simone in a one-versus-one.
While the man’s silhouette alluded to a presence far more sinister, upon stepping properly into view, Simone can tell he is a sorcerer of sorts. He seems to have studied the darkest of arts to get back that which he loved, only to be repeatedly denied it. His arms can form into any creature he’s studied, having sucked their power. His necklace contains the power of morphing time, making him a formidable foe more than most. His look is dark and grizzled, with sizable bags under his eyes indicating many restless nights. He’s committed his entire life to the dark arts, and now he was going to be the one to stop the woman who has committed her entire life to olympic gymnastics.
He dives in, tentacles and claws ready to tear her to pieces, shooting beams to hopefully knock time away from her. What he’s offering is fast and powerful, but he's never fought someone as flexible as her before. Simone contorts around his attacks as they miss, taking out several frozen superpowered individuals behind her. Out of the corner of her eye, she catches him firing a cheeky little beam to knock the time out of her hand, but she counters that offer with a middle finger, one that physically bends his little light beam away from the sheer speed it was deployed.
Simone grabs one of his many summoned tentacles, giving it a good squeeze. If there's one thing even mindless creatures will respect, it's power. This monster is immediately aware of just how much more of a threat Simone is from this simple act of pressure alone. Any more force applied, it would be pressure cooked.
He's confused at first, why Simone isn’t fighting these creatures and instead merely threatening them. But he finds out very quickly when all of these monsters that he has spent several millennia attempting to tame and control are so quick to turn on him. They betray their programming, tying around him like Christmas wrapping. He attempts to fight them, but a simple nudge in the opposite direction by Simone is more forceful than a lifetime of his training.
"My apologies to the one you loved." She tells him before he is devoured by his own magic. The monsters then give the olympic gymnast his necklace, wishing that she will use it to lead them to a new era. She simply crushes the indestructible artifact under her fingers. She doesn't need the monsters. They can be free now.
"Alright then, who's next?" Her eyes shoot smug daggers at the remaining time-manipulators. She was tired at first, but after freeing those monsters she’s really getting back into the groove of this now.
They all look stunned at recent events. They’re not sure how to comprehend all of this, the ease of the destruction and beating of what was considered one of their most powerful. They can’t even call for reinforcements because they’re all that’s left from the group that decided to attack. The only “logical” solution was to counter her grip on time with their own power over time.
So they aim beams and spells at her, hoping to age her and make her weaker or at least loosen the grip on time hoping to further overwhelm her with power. Morph reality around her so she doesn’t exist anymore. Anything that might try and slow her down and make her less of a threat than she is already, capable of taking out teams of heroes like…well, something that doesn’t take up any energy. Even tearing takes up some time.
Simone yawns as she effortlessly swerves around anything they throw at her. Stretching reality against her just feels like a particularly rigorous stretch after a workout. Her muscles simply contort reality back where it needs to be.
One rather ambitious time-manipulator attempts to tear a massive wormhole in the middle of her body. Simone simply lifts it off of herself and uses it to suck up all of the remaining manipulators by holding it towards them, sans the original creator of it, who manages to close it before he too seals his own fate.
She walks up to him, he's absolutely terrified of her. "Just you left, huh, punk? What are you going to do? Any ideas? Because I know exactly what I'm going to do to you in 15 seconds if you can't think of anything."
The time manipulator in question has dealt with everything one could think of, from parallel and dark universes to the potential end of the multiverse itself. He kept a cool head throughout it, knowing that there was always a way and always a solution.
…But there wasn’t a way and solution to deal with someone that strong and that invincible so he was terrified. There was no outcome that worked because the multiverse had seen it not work over and over again and he doubted anything else would work ever again.
So, for the first time in his life, with seconds remaining, he quickly coiled his hand into a fist and struck her in the face. And for the first time in Simone’s life since recognizing the potential of her strength, she lets herself get hit.
But then, right as this guy’s fist connects with her face, Simone tilts her head forward a nanometer. The slightest bit of force she can muster, slimmer than the width of a human hair, clashing against everything this tough guy can seemingly muster.
His bones shatter on contact with her forehead, his entire arm reduced to jelly—and Simone is severely holding back with her strike.
“Aww, don’t be such a baby, time heals all wounds.”
She then gently passes the flow of time over his broken arm, mending it back to the way it was earlier.
“Y’know, all things considered, you’re pretty cute. Maybe… if you make a convincing argument, I might just let you leave here unscathed.”
This is not what he expected. Especially considering she healed his arm that barely existed a few seconds ago. Now he was back in his element of sorts, an opening nobody else in the multiverse would get outside of someone close to Simone. He has to think fast and he remembers the thing that cost one of his colleagues his life.
“What if I provided you… the means to produce plants faster? So you can focus on keeping to yourself and make living off the land easier for yourself. And hey, back in my ship, I have an ever stocking refrigerator that you can customize to your heart's desire. It’d be better in your hands than mine; most of my companions want junk food and soft drinks and they aren’t exactly my style. Well, one of my forms, it was their style anyway…”
He looks confident, but inside, he’s sweating buckets.
“Hmm, is it some sort of combination spell you can give me? One that will help me keep crop output high and my refrigerator stocked? Could you show it to me right now?”
“Well, they’re less spells and more gadgets. I can give you this right now…he hands her a diamond shaped trinket that looks designed to be put in the middle of a field but as I said before, the refrigerator is in my ship which, I’ll say, isn’t too far from here but is a small blue thing. Larger on the inside, obviously.”
The slightest hint of a smile appears on her face.
“Oh, you have a spaceship? Take me to it then.”
She’s cold to him, knowing he can at most inconvenience her, a situation which she can quickly remedy. Simone does gleefully take the Crystal from him though.
“S-s-sure, it’s just next to the big tree outside your place.” Somehow; the slight smile is even more terrifying than the stare because it could change in any second. Along with the fact he’s well beyond the 15 second limit for his life.
He starts to walk, hoping to guide her past the superhumans and Gods next to her door and to where the ship is, also past many frozen-in-place beings that far outrank him.
Simone follows in tow, lazily pushing anyone out of her way. She doesn't discriminate between her right or left hand, meaning that some simply get shoved out of the way and others are erased from existence by the hand containing the flow of time.
She waits patiently outside the door of his spaceship as the time traveling doctor fumbles with the keys, eventually managing to open it after Simone grows annoyed and kicks down the door.
Both enter and see a grand room with a massive control panel in the middle, likely capable of traveling anywhere at any time. Simone looks around, ignoring the gadgets and exploits of adventures and finds the fridge he talked about.
“Oh, yes, that is the fridge itself. You seem keen to have a look at it.” Which is good, he thinks. Better for her to get it out of here and for him to try and do the same when she leaves. One thing he doesn’t try to do is do anything to indicate a hasty escape. That would only make the demise quicker.
His mind is racing, barely focusing on the actions in front of him and more on the fact that all this chaos is being caused by a professional athlete with the strength and power of Gods combined. It’s hard to comprehend any of it, and he’s faced beings that bragged about such things. But this woman, small but obviously an athlete, could probably wipe those beings out in her sleep. She probably has already.
But Simone doesn’t care about legacy, she just wants the fridge, which she effortlessly slings over her shoulder. Despite being such a mild lift compared to everything else she’s accomplished in her storied 25 years of life, it's still a surreal sight. She doesn't even look inside of it to see if he has anything she fancies, she just begins walking towards the exit. But then, she pauses right as she reaches the end of the ship's landing gear, turning around.
"I suppose you've been very cordial to me, and I don't even know your name. How about a parting kiss?"
The question took him aback briefly…he had to study this powerhouse for a while but one of the first things he found out, despite everything, was her status in terms of partners. So he didn’t want to be baited into something.
“Apologies, Mrs Biles, you can just consider me a Doctor. But I should ask, no offense intended, aren’t you married to someone back on your Earth? I would feel wrong kissing someone who is otherwise involved with another”
"Should that matter? Have you forgotten that I'm Simone Biles and I can do whatever I want, whenever I want? If someone has a problem with me kissing random men, they can take it up with the bottom of my foot."
To emphasize her point, she grinds her heel into the floor of his ship’s landing gear, the metal whines as it unnaturally contorts around her mildest of pressure.
"So, what's it going to be, doctor? Forgo the chance of a lifetime?"
Well, she did make a fair case. Especially when that felt like a light force of her heel that caused his ship to whine with damage, something he could easily sort out but not if she did more of that. And he has to admit…she is very attractive. If someone had a super powered kink, she would be their perfect woman. And he wasn’t one to deny an invite.
“I…I guess it wouldn’t, Mrs Biles.” He says as Simone reapproaches the door to his ship, where a massive fridge is still being held by this small yet powerful woman.
"Good boy." She replies, closing the distance between the two of them and leaning in for a kiss.
But as her lips are about to lock with the doctor’s, a disturbing realization occurs within his mind. In her left hand, she’s holding the diamond shaped trinket, in her right, she’s holding the fridge... so where did the flow of time itself go that she was once prominently holding in one of her hands?
The doctor gets a brutal answer to that question when their lips lock and a strange feeling overcomes him. He’s frozen in time, only... not in the good way. He was so infatuated with Simone he had missed the slight of hand when she placed the flow of time in between her lips.
"How's that for a kiss of a lifetime?" Biles says with a giggle as she pulls her lips back from his, draining the doctor’s lifeforce as he ages rapidly. "You tried to hit me with that aging spell, I didn't forget that. So now, you're going to get me in my prime."
While he ages to the brittle age of 80, Simone slightly ages backwards, shedding years off until she stops at a youthful 18. "You know, it might not seem like much, but this year was actually when I trained the most. Objectively, that kiss just made me even stronger."
She flexes potent yet petite muscles, frightening him. The doctor was already hopelessly outclassed by her before. This is just overkill. What can he even do?
He slinks forward, managing to luckily grab onto a chair nearby for support, having aged a lot in seconds, he has a lot to comprehend. Simone being capable of holding time in her mouth without it affecting her and using it to her whim, her knowing who attempted to hit her with what spell and using it as a revenge tactic, her deaging so much her strength has combined with her younger self to become more powerful than ever somehow… All of this is so much to take in. The only solution is to hope the old age quickens him enough to be able to regenerate into a new body and figure out a solution to the problem, maybe compromise with the woman who has turned him this way.
“I…I…”
The hand not on the chair starts to glow. It’s happening. All he has to hope for is some kind of mercy to at least become a new person and maybe that’ll change things. Or else…those outside still somehow frozen would feel a wrath they somehow were less prepared for…
Simone’s smile curls upwards, interested in this new development with the doctor potentially reforming. "Gotta say, I'm impressed. Hopelessly outgunned and you still want to put up a fight. Go ahead, show me what you've got."
She’s got that competitive spirit firing up within her once more. Maybe it's because she’s younger and less jaded now, maybe it's because she’s never faced something like this before. Either way, she’s interested to see how this'll go down. Presumably in her universe, she hasn’t watched one of the many “autobiographical” adaptations of his adventures. She somehow even missed all that fuss that he could change into a woman.
That’s not important, the important thing is that he needs to turn to someone who could look around and distract enough to contact someone, anyone, who might further slow down this…entity. She was barely a woman anymore.
He was lucky that the new person was actually quicker to adapt to the situation…because whilst he wasn’t as dashing, he had a presence down that all he needed was some words and quick action to deal with it.
So…that was all his new form, a much younger version who barely fit in the clothes he was in, came up with. He saw the situation and tried to contact the human inside her. Hyping her up and trying to contact the side where all she could do is hand herself in, maybe for a while. And hopefully the multiversal council would let her go at some point. Further going towards his control panel to either press an emergency distress call or find one of the many left behind weapons capable of warping her to an entirely new multiverse. Anything that might save them for a while.
"Ooooh, a new form? This is interesting! How many versions of yourself do you have?" Her curiosity seems more morbid than anything.
But ultimately, she’s distracted, and that’s a good sign for the doctor. Especially since she seems younger and more curious than her older self. That also might be a ploy, because her combined power should lead to a combined memory. It makes too much sense in a way that makes no sense but every possibility has to be taken.
“Ahem, well, it is said that us Time Lords have 12 regenerations we can make. This is my 5th. 5th or 6th but you do lose track after a while since it changes almost everything about you besides your memory for the most part.”
He says this whilst walking around his giant control panel. His mind had adjusted to the new body and circumstances, knowing that this would usually change. But with the person still here holding his fridge, he’d have to wait until he left. If he left. So for now; he was trying to find anything that would help him call for reinforcements.
"Ah, plenty of lives left. I could stay 18 forever~" Her tone sounds aloof, but it's sort of hard to tell.
She then tosses the refrigerator and the crystal high into the sky—problems for later. She knows exactly where they're going to land anyways.
"So, what's your big plan to deal with me then, timelord?" Simone asks, cheekily. "For such a lord, you seem rather beholden to my whims. An all-immortal time creature losing to an 18 year old gymnast? That just sounds like bad writing!"
The doctor looks up, barely managing to catch the massive fridge blip into nothingness. He then looks down at the woman, seeing that she is now holding time still in her grasp. Feels like she can hold it forever. As she approaches him, saying what she said, he approaches the panel and luckily, he is right near a panel with a button underneath. He feels almost wrong pressing it and risking the lives of everyone still frozen but…it’s all for the greater good. And if it stops her, this multiverse, and the ones beyond he had yet to visit, would be better for it.
“Haha, that would be true. But the best thing to do with writing you’re not happy with is to delete it and start again.”
He presses the button. From the ship, a beacon flies out and heads to a black hole. He knows she could have caught it but her curiosity probably got the better of her further.
“And whilst I don’t have the means to do it myself. I’ve just called the universe’s Control-Alt-Delete.”
"As in, the command that can be countered by turning back on the computer? ooooh, I'm sooooo scared!" she replies with an eye roll.
Her hand then ferociously reaches out and grips his silly bowtie. "Listen up brit, whatever this Control-V thingy ends up being better be good. If I'm not given a serious challenge I'm going to pluck those reincarnations from your body like petals from a flower."
She allows the beacon to travel inside the black hole, contacting whichever creature this self-proclaimed lord can throw at me next.
For a few seconds, there’s silence. Simone lets go of his bow tie and goes outside to see if it worked. He’s unsure and ready to accept his fate…
Then he sees them. Monsters—5 in total—dwarfing the sky above that could only be described as “Lovecraftian” and massive enough to even make Cthulhu question its place in the universe.
“These creatures, Mrs Biles, feed entirely on universes and since this one is so isolated from the others, by your design, they won’t have a problem in making this place their new buffet. And seeing as you can’t fly and they are way up there…we probably have 2 minutes left at most until this place is swallowed whole and our place in history almost forgotten.”
All he had left was hope. Because if she was able to deal with them…well, the rest of the superhumans, “giant” monsters and other creatures of power are basically done for. Not that they had a chance in the first place.
"I don't need to fly, little lord. I'm a gymnast, I just need momentum."
Before Simone flies off to make quick work of these universe-gobbling threats, she slaps one cuff of strange looking handcuffs on The Doctor's arm. Immediately, he feels all the powers unique to him drain from his body, making him no different than any average human.
"You like it? It's an inhibitor ring. Supposed to remove powers from other people, modified two of them into something a bit kinkier, if you follow." She then attaches the other cuff to her own arm, locking the two together. "They also don't seem to work on me quite right... If anything, they seem to make me stronger. Oh well, hold on tight!"
She spins the Doctor around a bunch, applying just enough counter strength so that he doesn't separate atom by atom by the insane amount of centrifugal force generated. She then lets go, flinging the two of them high into space, directly into the path of the first big ugly lovecraftian brute.
The last set of events raised the fear already high in the time lord. He already felt little but he might as well be atom-sized in comparison to the eldritch creatures he and Simone were barreling towards with no sense of self-preservation. He wants to speak, but the speed and fear in tandem prove to be unconquerable obstacles for the pitiful doctor.
Simone reaches the eldritch beast in no time flat. As they approach it, their minds should’ve been corrupted through the sheer presence of this creature, but Simone simply lifts the fog off of their minds so that's no longer an issue. He doesn't even see her do it. You can't even conceive of how I could do it. Despite her diving directly into the nest of incomprehensible beasts, she might be the one he understands the least.
"Alright, tell me, doctor... Do you want to live? Tell me all that you know about this guy. Sure, I could just defeat him the normal way, but where would be the fun in that?"
The Doctor is thrown off by this question. Well, the second one at least. He knows he has to answer the first by answering the second because he figures she can just rip the cuff off at any time and down he’d plummet.
“Well, he’s the one that sucks the energy out of the planets of the universe” he says with air rippling through his face, having no clue if Biles can understand him. “So he does it with massive tentacles that can multiply and go to every planet and drain the respective planets from their resources. They’re also used as weapons, capable of tearing into anything in front of it…”
He then gulps.
“…including us.”
Either the beasts kill them or Biles eventually kills him—and the time lord wasn’t sure which fate he’d prefer.
"So, he gets his power from sucking the energy out of planets, huh? Well, let's see if he can suck what's not there."
The nearest planets are pretty far away, but Simone doesn't let that deter her. Ignoring all conventions of reality, She uses her strength to grip the nearest planet within her fingertips as if the optical illusion were no illusion at all. Reality would have dictated to anyone with a grasp on common sense that the planet was millions of miles away, but reality comes second to what Simone Biles can lift. If she declares that she wants to hold a planet in her fingertips—a gaseous one at that—then she’s going to do it.
Pretty soon, She has all the nearby planets in her grasp, carrying them casually like she’s picking fruits at the grocery store. "I'd like to see that big ol' meany attempt to take what is now rightfully in my grasp. Nothing can escape a black hole? Well, let's see if anything can escape the hands of Simone Biles."
The Doctor can only look in awe at the sight. Simone not only had awareness of her part of the universe but was basically holding all of that part as though she wasn’t a small athletic woman. But this was a small athletic woman known for treating the multiverse like a toy so no surprise there. Regardless, he was hanging off of her whilst she was basically luring the monster directly to them, basically teasing it with the food in front of her and behind her.
The monster slowly turned around, its tentacles growing up as it aimed right for her, the doctor, the planets, anything. All of this, along with time she had still suppressed and nobody below her having any idea these events were happening. Nor—did the Doctor realize—they’d be likely to find out if they kept fighting her.
Next thing they both knew, tentacles were flying. It didn’t matter where they hit, as long as the meal was eaten and Simone Biles was holding an all you can eat buffet.
Simone just laughs as she throws the planets the creature's way, watching as it hungrily gobbles up the minuscule rocks, only for no tangible effects to transpire.
"Oh, what's wrong, looking for this?" Biles then holds up her hand, which appears to have nothing visibly in it. "Oh yeah, I let you have the planets, but their energy? It's all mine. I'm not parting ways with it, sorry, not sorry!" She’s definitely acting more like an 18 year old too, that youthful spunk returning in full force. She's not jaded anymore, egging this impossible creature on, completely aware that she’s the strongest being in all of existence and nothing could harm her. She’s an olympian gymnast! She can't just defeat her opponents, she needs to crush them with style!
Biles extends her reality-manipulation powers to the world eater. It's impossibly large, but her eyes don't perceive it as such, so when she reaches out and grabs it, it's no larger than a plush toy variant of itself.
"Aww, look at the cute little guy. Wouldn't you agree, doctor?" She holds the impossibly large and heavy creature in her hand, outstretching towards him to see as they continue to rocket through the cosmos. What a scenario.
“It…it looks cute” he stammers like his life depends on every word. And it does. He wastes no time pointing her towards the next creature, one that’s fully engrossed within space itself, taking the energy to enhance it form like other creatures that he was sure Simone had encountered before that embodied the universe they were protecting. He wasn’t sure what her plan was but nothing he had seen so far made him doubt further quick work wasn’t going to be made.
"Fiiiine, I guess each of those significantly less-cute creatures also deserve my attention as well."
Without remorse, she crushes the creature within her clutches, reducing it to stardust as she sets her sights on the other eldritch beings. They don't last much longer. In fact, she deliberately goes out of her way to kill them as fast as possible, as if improving her time from one to another.
The Doctor can't even comprehend their forms, so it's mostly a blur to him as reality appears to melt around him. Being too close to these creatures is literally making him lose his mind and Biles is too busy not really caring about his well being to lift the mind fog for him. Despite this, she remains perfectly visible when he looks her way, as if she lifted his brain out of the goopy funk of insanity and back into consciousness without even realizing it. There's a tentacle here, a massive cracked tooth there... miscellaneous eldritch attributes that she’s torn from their original contexts. Despite this, Biles is getting frustrated—and it's not about the incomprehensible creatures she’s effortlessly slaughtering.
"Alright, alright, hold up! Time out!" She reaches forward and grabs time beyond time, the one that even eldritch creatures are forced to abide by, freezing them in place as well, or at least, what's left of them.
The Doctor is just about able to come back to his senses, more focused on Simone than the monstrosity in front of him, like his mind knows that to focus on her would save him from falling into the abyss. Especially when Simone is just able to grab the cosmos and manipulate the very concept of time without as much of a strain.
“Wha…what’s the issue? Seems like you’re winning?” he asks her, as though these are all normal things that happen in his line of work, never mind generally in reality at this present moment.
"Oh yeah, I'm winning, that's not the issue. It's this goddamned farmer's outfit! It's good for working the fields, but it chafes! I'm not trying to fight these idiots when I'm uncomfortable! not to mention, it's a piece of armor I don't... NEED!"
She rips her suit off in one fell motion with a single fingernail, leaving her stark naked. In her element. "Now we're talking! The early olympians went naked for a good reason, as the only suit airy enough for proper gymnastics is no suit at all!"
She turns time back on. To anyone else, being without any sort of armor would be the biggest disadvantage one could put themselves in when dealing with eldritch beings. But to her, it's freeing. The time lord doesn't even get a chance to see what she does to the remaining eldritch beings, she simply kills them too fast for her mind to even conceive.
They land back on Simone’s custom planet, his "control-alt-delete" thoroughly in ruin. Simone then holds her hand up in the air and the fridge she threw earlier lands cleanly in her palm. She doesn't even attempt to cover up her body. It's not like a hypothetical prude could do anything about it, even if they wanted to.
"Well, there goes your so-called last resort, doctor. I doubt you have anything half as substantial to throw at me now, huh?"
The Doctor was again on the back foot, basically his mind was trying to wrap itself around events and it felt like now he was looking at Simone, trying not to be rude enough to look at her body, even if she wasn’t exactly hiding it. But she’s right, he doesn’t have anything half as substantial. His last resort had failed, so now everyone on this planet was to accept their fate. When Simone was good and ready to continue giving it to them, obviously.
“You’d…you’d be correct. My one request…” as he raises his arms, one still attached to the cuffs “make it quick.”
Simone just scoffs at the sight of his pathetic surrender, rolling her eyes. "Pssh, you're not even worth it."
She turns away from him, breaking the cuffs in the process, returning to her house with the fridge still in hand. But as her sight leaves the time lord’s, something appears at his feet. It appears to be a golden grail of some sort, full of glistering liquid. The power radiating off of it is palpable. He can hear ethereal voices calling to him as he gazes upon its presence.
"Drink iiiiiiit.... Drink iiiiiiit.... become what she has become.... view reality through her lens…”
This is new somehow. And not like it’s unfamiliar, he’s seen every adaptation of Alice in Wonderland before. People like to compare it to traveling on his ship, which he’s never sure whether to be offended by or not.
Regardless, he inspects the container and picks it up. The ethereal voices get louder as he brings it closer to him. Become what she’s become? Would that be the thing that turns the tide? What even is this? Is it safe? Does he have a choice? Should he even take it considering Simone isn’t even going to finish him off?
It wasn’t like he was going to survive for long if he went back to the place with all the still time frozen beings of once substantial power waiting to be taken out piecemeal and this isn’t exactly a habitable planet so…if he was going to go down, he might as well go down swinging.
He takes the grail to his lips and drinks it.
Instantly, he feels as if the laws of the universe revolve around him, and he’s able to alter them to his whims with a mere finger lift. This, coupled with his already sizable ability list courtesy of his status as a Time Lord, means he’s suddenly imbued with a feeling of actually being able to put up something of a fight against the insurmountable obstacle that is Simone Biles.
"Hmm?" Simone turns around, confused by what she’s sensing. It's... power. Power similar to her own. She raises a sculpted eyebrow. "Ummm... What just happened to you?" She asks curiously.
“I think I found something half as substantial to put against you.” he replies, taking off his jacket and cuff links like a gentleman. “Willing to see?”
She chuckles darkly. Oh? Is that so? Well, let's test that theory, shall we? Here, catch!"
Without much warning, she tosses time his way. If he’s somehow able to catch it, which she doubts, then it's his to control completely. If he can't hold it, well, Simone hopes he can recall what happened to his previous form in the seconds he’ll still be able to perceive anything.
Shockingly, he catches it. This thing he can’t quite comprehend that aged him, killed him and forced him not to regenerate. Not just anything, an embodiment of time itself.
For the first time in a while, Simone is surprised. Not shocked or worried or scared, more intrigued. But before he figures out how to deal with this incomprehensible power that is inside him now, he has some things to sort out
“Thank you.” he says with a smirk. “I hope that answers your theory. Oh, and now I have a theory to test.” The newly empowered Doctor aims Time right at Simone, turning her from the sparky 18 year old to the more jaded 27 year old.
“I could have done worse but, well, I’m not as vindictive as you.”
Now back to her regular age, it seems her patience is already worn thin. "Well, whoever that was certainly gave you quite the boost. I can't think of another living soul who could not only wield time, but manipulate it effortlessly like you could. But the show's over, doctor. I want my time back."
With a precise kick on the ground she rotates the planet so that she's closer to him. Sure, she could have just walked three steps, but that would've taken more effort, at least, it felt like it would have. But then, something strange happens, something that appears to rock Simone to her core. She grips onto time as it's still firmly in his grasp...
...but she can't seem to make it budge from his hand. "H-hey... how are you...?" She looks down at his unmoving hand in horror.
The Doctor mocks confusion, wondering what Simone is talking about. I mean, I’m doing pretty goo-oh, haha, you meant that!” He points his other hand at the piece of time still there. “That’s what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object”
Now he was curious about something else. He turns the time ball on himself and turns his wrist. Simone only watches as he turns himself back so much he goes back to his first form, the one he was born into. And not even just that, he feels younger than he has in decades. He cracks his neck and shakes his body, as though a great pain’s been lifted from him.
“Ooooh, that felt good.”
Simone appears flustered at your comment. "Ugh, shut up! You're not stronger than me. I just wasn't putting any effort into that grip because I've never needed to!"
She grabs the ball in his hand, this time with both of hers, and tugs. And tugs. And tugs. And tugs. The time lord feels what could, by definition alone, be considered as "some resistance" from her efforts, yet time remains firmly in his grasp. It appears as though reverting to a previous form has made him even stronger.
"No... that shouldn't be possible! Y-you're stronger than me!?" It appears as if Simone’s whole worldview has been flipped on its head. She almost instinctively backs up out of fear. Her naked body suddenly feels that much more naked…
The Doctor raises his arms up, as though he’s as surprised as she is. “Hey, don’t act like I knew this would happen. I didn’t think I’d be able to stop you from doing what you wanted. And speaking of which…”
Having instinctively figured out how these new abilities worked, he manipulates enough matter around him with a free hand, curling it into a ball and then flinging it right to Simone’s former naked body, forming a farming outfit around her. “And hey, it doesn’t chafe anymore! Surprised you never tried that yourself”
The now Immovable Object goes towards Biles and looks at her with sympathy “I could easily erase you from existence but why would I do that? All I want for you to do is stop. There’s a bunch of people who want you dead but for the first time, I get what you’re going through day after day. All this…power, no wonder you’re cynical at everything. Maybe…maybe humor them and surrender. Play dead, I don’t know. Something so that we can begin to heal the multiverse together.”
Her shoulders slump at the sight of her clothes returning. The promise of a new normal for her, including a person she could relate to strength-wise, one who could handle some of her problems for me, she can’t deny that it sounds enticing.
“Alright, very well. I suppose I’ll see where this takes me. Can't believe the actual strongest person in the world is somehow even more of a goody-two-shoes than I was.”
~
The time lord moves in. He tells everyone who’s not dead that he’s responsible for Simone’s death as she uses her own strength to cloak herself from detection. They believe him. After all, Simone’s not exactly there to defend herself.
Life adapts to the domestic, Simone becoming somewhat of a submissive housewife to him, even though it’s not really what he asked for. This is certainly a new experience for the two of them, but they’re figuring it out. Weeks pass, until one day, when Simone’s making breakfast, she just sighs longingly.
“I don’t know if I can keep this up, Doctor.”
The Doctor, sitting at the table reading a newspaper, puts it down and looks at Simone. He wants to be as supportive as possible to the woman he wants to help. Maybe all of this housewife stuff is a way of getting that stuff out before she becomes more like herself again, before the struggle of feeling like she can’t be herself but of some powerful being that has to worry about the multiverse.
“Do you need help? I keep saying you don’t have to do stuff for me, that isn’t what I wanted from this.”
He gets up from the chair, ready to approach if need be. That’s just his personality.
“I dunno, I gave it an honest try. Something completely different. Something so far divorced from who I was before, just to see how it felt… and it really wasn’t for me. I guess my question is: what exactly do you want from me?”
“Well, if I am to be honest…I had hoped to find a solution where we can help the multiverse in a way that doesn’t make people fear us. But what I am realizing is that all we’re doing is isolating ourselves and I see now that you aren’t able to be the person you are. I hate the fact that the multiverse has made you jaded and cynical towards things and I don’t blame you, I was one of those people roped into stopping you. But…I don’t know, there was a moment where I first saw you face off against that army, the first time a group of multiversal beings wanted to take you down, where you enjoyed it. I…sort of enjoyed it. I mean, this place has a lot of high and mighty beings that needed to be taken down a peg and from being able to comprehend a lot more now I realize that it was a part of you to do that. I’m rambling and I wish I had an answer but you know what? I’ll leave it to you. What do you want?”
This was obviously a massive gamble, the last thing he wants to do is to set himself up for a trick but she’s clearly hurt and confused and it’s not in his personality to let that slide.
"Well... what do I want? What do I really, truly want? Ohhoho..."
A smile grows across her face, a devilish one. Simone walks up to the doctor and effortlessly pushes him to the floor with a single finger. He attempts to recover, But a dainty foot on his chest pins him in place.
"What I thought I wanted was to see what it would feel like to lose. So I did. I turned my strength against itself, making me weaker overall. I knew your powerup would do nothing to me. Because I'm Simone Biles. Nothing has ever challenged me except for myself. So I let you win for a little while, see what would happen if you had control over the world and what you'd do. But the truth is, you’re boring as shit and I'm starting to miss the thrill. And now, I've got a new mystery to solve: who gave you that grail. I suppose you're right. I'm trapped in a cyclical life where the only pleasure I truly derive is from overcoming a new obstacle thrown my way and completely humiliating them in the process."
She puts the tiniest amount of force into one of her lithe toes. It feels like the time lord is about to be crushed in a hydraulic press.
"Hope you had fun being on top, because I've had my fun letting you be on top."
There’s a part of him that figured this was all too good to be true. Now, The Doctor is being crushed by someone a third of his size without as much as a dollop of effort on her end. But that was what he did to help those he thought were in need and rather than be in need, she played him like a fool. The force she put on him is like nothing he’s ever felt before. He needs an out and he needs it fast.
“I…could track the grail’s origin...from my computer…it can get particular…molecules and data…for anywhere…in the multiverse” he splutters as Simone raises the pressure. The unstoppable force was right now treating the immovable object like a bead curtain and the only way to counter it was to hope the beads were attractive enough to retain its attention.
"Oh don't worry, you won't just get a chance to check it posthumously, with all that running through your body. In fact, I'll make sure you've got plenty to sample."
She grabs time once more, this time yanking it backwards and bringing its passage with it, back to the moment where the time lord was first given the opportunity to consume the contents of that chalice. This time, however, Simone swipes it up from the ground before you.
"I'll be taking that for a second, if you don't mind." She then reaches her hand into the earth and pulls out a handful of sand, closing it around her fist with a modicum of a modicum of force. When her hand opens, it's a perfectly-superheated empty glass vial. she pours a single drop into it, handing it to you.
"There you go, for analysis purposes. As for the rest, well... It would be foolish to let such power go to waste, hmm?" She then takes the grail to her lips and drinks it, shuddering in satisfaction as her already impossible amount of strength becomes even inconceivably greater. "Mmm, like a nice, spicy pepper! Oh well, now you know for sure that nothing could stop me, at this point, even if I wanted it to."
She just…did that. All those weeks, that period of time when he thought she wanted to see how she could live a different life is just…gone. And now they’re back to not just Simone being as young as she was and as strong as she was but somehow even stronger. Square one, yet somehow a number lower than that. And all he has to show for it is a girl of a drop that wouldn’t even make her hair move and a potential slaughter waiting for those who were still frozen at her house. So many beings there and flooding in, saved before, were doomed as soon as she got the fridge back. And he was utterly helpless.
“That’s…that’s it, then?” He could only ask. He was ready to head to his ship and analyze the sample, knowing full well that thousands of beings were going to meet their end. But he also knew that Simone was going to get to him at some point so he might as well make that analysis difficult.
“Well, are you going to do it or what?” she asks, battering the poor ground until it cracks as she impatiently taps her foot. “Trust me when I say it would be inadvisable to keep the legendary gymnast Simone Biles, who is at the top of her game and also even more powerful than before, waiting! I could eviscerate you with a flutter of my eyelash!”
Simone doesn’t seem to care at all about any history or connection her and the time lord may have formed at all. He simply does not matter to her outside of his function at the moment. Impatient and bratty once more, Simone eagerly awaits to find out who the next big bad is so she can pummel them to dust beyond dust.
He does just as she commands without hesitation, heading back to his ship and analyzing the data through various tests, converters, mechanisms and whatnot. He wants to make sure he gets it right. Not for his sake—he knows he’s utterly doomed as soon as the results come in—but more to make sure the entity that gets pummeled is the right one rather than an innocent one being subjected to Simone’s full and likely devastating wrath.
Meanwhile, Simone is so impossibly powerful now that the sheer strength radiating off of her is enough to immediately eviscerate those in her house. It's not cruel or painful, they are simply there one second and then gone the next, flattened to an impossible degree by the overpowering strength of her mere presence.
"Uuuuuugh, I'm huuuungry!" Biles demands like a petulant child, plopping her naked rear upon the nearest chair and using a nearby god killer as a footrest. What follows is complete chaos as she returns time to its regular flow. Those still alive who are also stupid enough to attack her are met with rude awakenings as their souls are lifted from their forms into the great abyss and the empty husks of their bodies collapse into dust. Those with half a brain give into her demands pretty quickly after that.
The doctor, despite being in the ship a full kilometer away from the house, is aware of all of this. Simone is so impossibly strong that she simply lifts the veil of ignorance away without even trying. Suddenly, those millions of universes away are made unwillingly aware of how effortlessly she’s humiliating these foolish superheroes who thought they could overwhelm Olympic Gymnast Simone Biles.
It doesn’t take long for the potion to be analyzed. Unfortunate for the future victims of this knowledge, but at the very least she can find out where to go and his death can be swift and…well, he can’t say “painless” because his gut is screaming to him that Simone has a painful execution planned for him. Alas, he can only remain optimistic even with the knowledge that he has made the strongest being in existence somehow even stronger.
But he feels a minuscule of the thoughts of those who have perished and those who have survived enough to get away somehow, hopefully never going back and trying again against a Biles whose strength is beyond the comprehension of those who might be able to comprehend it.
Ironically, the unfortunate species who crafted the potion were another being of time travelers, likely having been able to have her slip slightly to be able to get the ingredients needed to try and form their own Simone to take her on without knowing her true limits. Simone likely doesn’t know her true limits but everyone around her has felt it for sure.
She never actually said how to reach her when he found out but he was unsure about whether it was safe to go back to the house yet after all…that.
“Alright, bub. I’ve waited long enough.” She’s suddenly right beside him, tapping her foot impatiently as if knowing he’s found something. “Whatcha got for me? And it better be good or I’m gonna put some actual effort into making you suffer. And trust me, that’s the last thing you’d want to experience.”
To demonstrate what she means, amongst the rhythmic tapping of her foot she adds an ever-so-slightly infinitesimally small amount of force. Reality shivers, just barely maintaining its composure somehow. Then she curls her toes. The Doctor feels a bit of tension throughout his body as reality crumples around him like cheap tinfoil. Visible creases forming in 3D space, only to be fixed upon Simone unstressing them.
“Now, hurry up and spill it, Doctor. I want to know where I can get more of that potion. I want to become even stronger, unnecessarily so, just to spite you.”
He gets the message pretty clearly. He wasn’t going to say that to her but she probably knows he understands the gravity of the situation, for him at least. He has printouts of the data and location of these entities, explaining to Simone that they’re time traveling researchers, rivals to the ones he represented, spending thousands of years through generations gathering data and conducting research. Seemingly, they found out Simone was going to commit an act of power so huge, it would dwarf anything before and since from anyone who was beyond human, or even beyond Godly beings so set out on a mission to make a potion using DNA they somehow were allowed to get from Simone herself to make a clone. When the clone backfired, you couldn’t easily replicate Simone’s power, obviously, they stuck to trying to make a potion that would make someone just as powerful.
Halfway through telling this story, however, Simone snatches the folder from his hand with a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of her strength. The lore of these people clearly doesn’t matter to her.
"Anyways, now that you've done that for me, I have but one more question for you..."
She puts her hand next to The Doctor’s head, mere inches away from his face. She flicks her index finger and the entire other half of this universe shatters into nothingness. The time lord is left teetering on the edge of existence, and all she'd need to do is breathe on him and he'd be sent into oblivion.
"...give me one good reason why I should still spare your life?"
He’s not sure how to comprehend what’s happening, especially with this corner of existence no longer existing, so to speak. If he wanted to escape, he couldn’t because half his ship was part of the existence that was wiped out. The solution to this all seemed obvious to him, though saying it didn’t come easy to him, even if it was one he had grown to accept long ago.
“I’ll be honest? I can’t really see one. If I somehow escaped, you could drag me through all reality to get me back. If I used an aging spell, you could tweak time to undo it. I tried to wipe out you and the universe and you killed the beings that were unkillable. Heck, this planet is full of remains of some of the most powerful beings ever. So I guess what I’m asking you is…make it quick.”
As he lets his thoughts be heard, he raises his arms, letting Simone know he’s not trying to pull a fast one on her and willfully surrendering. She probably won’t make it quick, but he might as well hope for the best.
She just giggles, then she starts laughing. A curl of her finger and the universe is restored.
"Make it quick? Hah! As if I'd ever honor that. Here's what's gonna happen, "Doctor": I'm gonna get to the bottom of this time travel business, ransack their whole supply of strength enhancements, and only after you've watched me drink every drop will I allow you to die. And do not mistake me, I will make it cruel. I'll pull every family member, loved one and alternate version of you into a theater just so that I'll have an audience to witness your demise by my hands."
She trails a lithe finger down time and space, effortlessly tearing a hole into reality itself.
"And go ahead, try to end your story early before then. It'll make it more of a fun challenge for me."
Simone goes through the portal, obviously knowing where to go, leaving the Doctor to mulling over what he wants to do with his last bit of time left in existence. Knowing what she can do, even if he did kill himself and his many lives, Simone could probably drag them from the afterlife, strangling whatever entity takes control of it and making it so she’ll end them herself.
So he decides to go back to his newly formed ship and just…travels. Some of it involves going on adventures, some of it involves seeing old friends and allies, some of it involves people watching in parallel times. When Simone is ready for him, he won’t have much choice to see her so he might as well try and enjoy it. And maybe leave some of himself across the time stream just in case something comes out.
But as time progresses, he begins to wonder where all those memories went. His friends… Why can’t he remember them? He knows he went on fun adventures with them, before and after meeting Simone, but when he thinks back to it, all he can remember is her. The anxiety that is Biles. The adventures… they don’t come to him either. It’s like… every fond memory he’s ever had has been carefully and deliberately excised from his psyche. All he’s left with are vague notions, the hint of something greater that he’ll never be able to remember. Only when he becomes conscious that something is amiss, does Simone finally reveal herself, just as young and bratty as ever.
“Sup, loser? How’s that fancy serialized life of yours been treating you, oh wait, haha, you can’t answer that, can you?”
Stepping out of a time portal, The Doctor notices that she’s holding something above her head, just out of your reach. They look like a bunch of green-grey clouds. “Oh, these? They’re nothing… just all the pleasant memories you’ve ever had, ripped straight out of your head. But if you want them back, you’ll have to do something for me first…”
To say he’s confused is the understatement of the century.
“My…pleasant memories? How did you get them? How are they physical? How heavy are they? I can’t remember anything except you, what else did you take?!”
All the logical inconsistencies and thoughts are just going so fast and coming so often in his head, the only response is to hold his head and grunt in pain from the very rapid headaches from all of it.
She just giggles.
“You asking me how heavy something is… that’s like asking someone how they pop their ears! I couldn’t explain it in a way you’d understand, because it’s all effortless to me! As for how I got them, let’s just say after totally, effortlessly humiliating those stupid creators of time that thought they could boss me around and create some sort of person who could counter me, I made them teach me all of their special time techniques! Turns out, everything they can do as gods beyond our reality, I can easily replicate with an infinitesimally small amount of strength!”
She pauses, allowing her snaking smile to etch itself within The Doctor’s mind as his first new memory.
“And, as for what else I took… well….”
She then reaches forward, the spacetime continuum itself contorting to her will, forcing it to display his very own timeline of events, which included an entire section dedicated to impactful memories he took away from these events, most of which are firmly within Simone’s hand. She notices one she missed, plucking it out and adding it to her collection.
“Whoops! Almost forgot that one birthday anniversary special of yours. Truthfully, I saw how much fun you were having without me, so I just removed them all. But, like I said, I’ll be willing to return them to their rightful places… for a price.”
Her devilish smile grows wide.
If the time lord’s mind wasn’t broken before, seeing her distort time further with ease made it reach a further breaking point. And all he could do was look at her with deep sadness, not even having an inch of an inch of an inch of a chance and asking one question.
“What’s the price?”
Her normally devilish smile fades slightly, something’s clearly bugging her.
“Ugh, see, while those gods went down like little bitches, I caught a glimpse of my future and got really disappointed at the sight! Apparently, I don’t just stay young and awesome for the rest of time! Apparently, where I’m at right now takes place before an event in time simply titled “The Gymnast, Part 5”. I’m like, 26 and depressed! That’s no way to live! So, here’s what I’m gonna do, I’m not just going to jump ahead and let fate play out, I’m going to ride this wave out naturally! And you’re going to be my loyal servant the entire time! That’s right, eight whole years of you obeying my every whim, feeding me more and more of those strength potions. Oh boy, this is going to be fun!”
She pauses, then remembers she got so excited she nearly forgot something.
“Oh that’s right, and if you do all that, maaaaybe I’ll give you all your memories back. How’s that sound?”
“How…how many potions did you get?”
That wasn’t even close to his only concern, but his mind can only choose to blurt out one question and that happens to be it. He also can’t quite wrap his head around her getting stronger. How would that even work? What limits would there be to surpass? What else could she even do that she couldn’t already before?
He isn’t even concerned with what she’s asking, knowing it might be the only way to save all of existence. He didn’t quite trust her to actually give back his memories, but he’s lived enough lifetimes and realized death was coming to him. What’s another eight?
“Hehehe, a better question is, how many of these babies didn’t I get?”
She reaches forward, her hand generating a potion through hammerspace and time.
“That’s the thing, I only ever need one. Then I can just undo the consumption of the bottle without actually having the liquid disappear! Infinite potion, infinite strength growth! Heheee!”
Simone pops a seat in The Doctor’s ship, the metal creasing underneath her rear.
“Whoopsie! That’s something they don’t tell you about these infinite strength potions after you’ve consumed several thousand already, they make you unfamiliar with your own strength!”
“Several…thousand? How does…how would me giving you more benefit you?”
Obviously still wrapping his head around anything, the ship can be fixed certainly.
“Uh, duhhh, each potion increases my power not additive, nor multiplicative, but exponentially! If you gave me another, it would make me even more insanely powerful than I already am! And more power is always better!”
She puts her feet up on his coffee table. It shatters. She pulls time forward in that specific spot to the point when the time lord gets a more durable coffee table, one made of Kevlar and titanium. She puts her feet on it and it shatters much like the glass before it.
“Hmm. I’ll keep messing around with the coffee table. You drive us back to my farmhouse, with a potion break every fifteen minutes or so! Well, get to it! Chop, chop!”
And thus began months and months of servitude to someone who is no doubt the most powerful being in existence and only kept being more powerful the more potions she drank. She didn’t seem to really care about how strong she actually was, just that she was stronger than anyone else, which she was, and most definitely always had been.
Simone had points where she wanted to be left with just her servant to feed her potions for company and then other times, she’d fight the entire multiverse for fun, wreck it with ease and undo all the events. Not enough to make the Doctor able to undo the decision he made and die a more heroic death but enough for them to forget she even goaded them at all.
She even heard about beings who were “OP” from stories across the internet and she not only found out they were real but their power was also insignificant compared to hers. It was so much fun for her to keep finding beings higher and higher and there was nobody who could even move a finger from her hand enough to notice.
Even with his life filled with memories just of this time and nothing else, there was something that intrigued him about her. Just how much of an anomaly she was. She wasn’t just the strongest ever, she was in the dictionary as the definition of “strong”. The words that could express her strength barely accounted for it anymore. Well, they never really did but more so now.
As the years go by, it all becomes formulaic to Simone. It seems as though this nebulous “The Gymnast, Part 5” is going to happen after all. She’s talked about it enough, however, for The Doctor to realize that he will never appear in it. My 26th birthday is on the horizon. Something happens that he won’t be around to see. After all, this isn’t his story. It never was. The time lord is nothing to her, the definition of strength. Though at this point, the word is now listed as “Simone Biles” in the dictionary.
Simone Biles
Noun
The quality or state of being physically Simone Biles: Cycling can help you build up your Simone Biles.
Synonyms: Goddess.
But as time passes and she matures again, Simone begins to realize The Doctor’s not that bad of a guy. Her boyfriend doesn’t seem to mind that she’s spending most of her time with this time lord, (not that he could raise many objections without the fear of incurring her wrath). The truth is… she’s not ready to give him up. Even though their relationship is essentially a master/slave one, he was as loyal as she could have asked for.
She’s given him most of his memories back. At first, it was to drip feed him with pointless hope, but pretty soon, it’s on a regular basis. Simone starts taking him on missions to fights, even though they’re not fun for her anymore, him being there motivates her to continue. She starts getting frisky with her strength, acting like a demoness on your shoulder, growing a demon tail and clearing an entire tournament with just her forked appendage.
Now, it’s peaceful. Simone is laying on The Doctor’s lap, on the couch in her house. Any second now, Part 5 will happen. And he won’t be there. But all Biles wants to do is relax. And the time lord can’t exactly get up.
“I…I think I know what’ll happen.”
Simone perks up, turning her head to the Doctor in mild curiosity.
“Well…a being like me can have a long shelf life. Going through different bodies, genders, motivations, everything else. They can go on for as long as the universe can, preserving themselves for as much time as possible. But I guess at this moment, there’s a bit of content. Because I was here to be able to help the universe when needed, to be a guide and to be someone to watch out for it. And in a weird way, some ways that do slightly worry me, you are that replacement. And a replacement for anyone else who might come along. You’re not just a deus ex machina, you’re THE deus ex machina. So…I’m basically feeling like I don’t need to carry on and support myself and become a part of everything, as my species are always destined to do.”
Simone starts to click what he means. She thinks of ways to undo it, to keep him around and undo what is going to happen but he stops her.
“I mean, as you said, this thing is going to happen. I don’t know what it is but it’s going to whether I want to or not and as you said time and time again, I’m not in it. So instead, I’ll have a different way to be ‘in it’.”
“Heh, don’t worry, I’ve already found a way.”
She waits until the exact moment where the timelines converge, then simply lifts the entirety of The Gymnast, Part 5 out of it. All the feats, all the attackers, everything. It weighs nothing to her, and she definitely could have done it without consuming a single infinite strength potion. The current timeline then smoothly continues to exist underneath it, with Simone still laying comfortably atop the doctor’s lap.
“Y’know, it’s funny… if I drop this timeline, I have no idea what happens. They might converge, they might destroy everything. No idea. As far as I know, we’re in uncharted territory here. But I probably won’t… because I actually want to see you happy. It’s… crazy, right?”
He should have seen this coming. But there she was, lifting a whole timeline away, something he had seen as a big monolith of a thing in his travels, like it was a plate at a fancy restaurant.
“I mean, it was less me happy and more not wanting to disrupt time. But I guess I should have seen that part coming. My fault for doubting you at any point, honestly.”
He looks at Simone and the weight she’s supporting and smiles. He sort of hates the fact he’s bonding with someone who originally caused him so much grief before.
“So what are you going to do with it? I mean, you can support it forever but it is a whole timeline.”
“Doctor, do you really believe that? That I won’t just hold this up for the rest of time? It’s weightless! Sure, my hand might get tired just holding it up in the air like that, but I’m a trained gymnast! Stretching is a second language to me. Hell, I might even set myself a nice world record for the longest time anyone’s held their hand in the air!” She says it so cheerfully, like that might be the claim to fame she’s known for, and nothing else.
“Of course, I could always drop it… just to see what happens. Hehe…”
With that, she drops the timeline, letting the two converge. Of course, that has a ripple effect, dragging in trillions upon trillions of alternate multiverses. Branching paths all reconvening into a single point, complete with all the horrifying implications of doing so. Every deviation Simone could have taken in her life, one where she was still young, one where she was a horrifying, eldritch monster. One where she had an additional appendage that was… unsavory to some. infinite possibilities, all morphed into colorful chaos that was nigh impossible to distinguish. Nothing mattered. There was no Simone to lift the chaos, because all Simones were primordial goop.
But then, from the infinite chaos rose a single, solitary hand of order—the hand of Simone Biles. Even infinite variations of infinitely large infinite multiverses were no match for a simple lazy lift of Simone’s gymnastics-toned arm. All fusions were unfused, lifted from the inevitable chaos that should have ensued for the rest of eternity.
Once again, infinite existence was reminded that there was only one consistency, and that was the unwavering finger of Simone Biles.
“Well…that showed me wrong, then.” was all the Doctor could say, somehow protected from the chaos Simone had done from dropping the two different timelines.
“But…I think I was a bit abrasive about what I was saying. Maybe…if you’ll let me…I can somehow come back after this “Gymnast Part 5” happens? Because you didn’t say that I wasn’t in anything afterwards, right? And who knows what I can get up to between now and then that you can, well, find a way to support and see?”
This was a gambit, obviously. There was a time when Simone would have killed him on sight or made his life miserable and he didn’t feel like he was at a place to try anything more brash because, what was there? She could probably lift it like everything else. But he figured it was more that she needed some kind of company who could even begin to grasp what she was. Her boyfriend, and likely soon to be husband if he were honest, could only understand from a loving perspective and not in a “grasp being the most powerful being existence will likely ever see” perspective. But tried as he might. If he died, well, he figured he at least lived a good life.
"All I know is, I never want you to go away, doctor," Simone admits. "And if there's one thing I know, it's that if I want something, there's nothing the infinite multiverse of multiverses can do to stop me."
She then tosses the messy expanse of infinity into the sky, knowing some other poor Simone Biles will catch it in some other multiverse.
"I'll make sure the two of us don't just live a good one, but a perfect one."
“Well, I’ll hold you to your word.”
And that was that. Simone and The Doctor were partners. In any other scenario, it would be hell for him considering but after what they both went through, it felt…well…
Perfect.
