Hello all. I'm soon to release some new products and I'd like you to test one. You'll need Max 7 if you're a Max For Live user. Will run in Live 9 or 10. Its for.... you guessed it... mashing up loops. I won't tell you how it works, cause I'd like you to figure it out. Please leave comments and feedback ob your tests. I'm less interested in feature requests but I'll certainly read them. Please don't share, but tell your friends you're doing it anyway for hype. Thanks.

I'm going to take a crack at this, sorry if I come off as ignorant- I'm just guess working. It seems odd that it's default is set to 1 over on the left set of buttons, and that 1 is REALLY fast(of whatever it's doing) and that the higher numbers is closer to playing at a more normal tone. Both in it's layout and default- makes it more difficult to find land in order to explore. Now I'm really risking coming off as ignorant- the layout of the device makes me inclined to "Drop Something Here" but that doesn't appear to do anything- while I have to drop audio files into the soundwave box- I'm still poking around with the thing so if that's a complete different thing that I haven't figured out. This thing is REALLY cool the more I play around with it. I'm really digging the sounds coming out of this thing- and it's fun to mess with the parameters to see the new variations that are coming from this. thanks for sharing!

Olaf

I don't think "grab" works properly- the sequence still moves after it's selected. But if I understand it properly- it should be really cool especially since it's both locally and globally set up

Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps loading sounds and getting it going isn’t that intuitive. I’ll look into it. 👍🏻

Hella fun Ned - definitely not the best example ever but I had fun doing it none the less :-) TBH I dont know exactly whats happening but then I never do - the x/y is fun and once I figured to click on sections to set amount/prob it instantly opened up!

Ned Rush

Thanks for the feedback. I’m looking into making it more intuitive off the bat.

I can't get it to play at all. Dropped a sample, pressed play (both in Nedit and Live transport).. Nothing. Tweaked some settings, also based on the comments here, but I'm not getting anything. No mixer meters moving either. Edit: Nevermind! It's late and there is cannabis involved. Gonna have some fun with this now. Cheers! (I needed to choose sample from purple drop-down)

Hi David. Yes. Once you’ve dropped a file into the Dropbox, it appears in the drop down menu. You need to select it with the transport running a hit go. I’m not settled on this yet, but the idea behind it is that you can drop as many files as you want into the Dropbox and have an endless list of samples to load into the device, whilst it’s running and quantized to the beat, but it’ll probably go in favour of something else and live UI doesn’t support dynamic menus and max menus can’t be automated.

Hey Ned, I wrote two comments with feedback but they have disappeared it seems. Do you see them on your end? I'm a bit confused. For what it's worth, most of the questions I had I answered myself already.

Ned Rush

Yes I saw the comments in email but when I went to reply on the app they weren’t there. This website is s bit shot sometimes. I sometimes wonder if I should create special private Facebook group for patrons.

DD

Wow, that's wild. The other day I noticed the icon for the Patreon app on my phone had a "beta" written on it. I never agreed to install a beta... Anyway, I just spent another hour with Nedit and it's awesome! As I said, answered most of my own questions. I think I had some UI issues last night with the info boxes. Saw some text that wasn't there before. And I think the device choked on itself a couple of times when I changed the slicing clock rate while it was playing. It got a bit chaotic but not insane; maybe something like both clock rates playing at the same time, don't know. As far as a facebook group, might be worth a try. Personally never liked the way fb handles group discussion (also I don't use it anymore). Maybe something like a private invite-only subreddit. Discord is pretty cool, honestly. It's like the IRC client we wish we had way back when lol

Ned Rush

Subreddit isn’t a bad idea.
