How about a meaningful game today!

Idle clicker seem like a pretty good genre to use to critic capitalism, with its endless production and hoarding mechanics, yet it rarely goes beyond highlighting the 'uselessness' of playing those very games.

Personally I don't think idle clicker are as dumb as some people would say, but I do think they could be made more interesting, by conveying meaningful narratives for example.

So here's my take on that!

Great idea - I cannot agree with this more! I've had various conversations over past year or so of how we can best inform/educate players about important environment topics (such as climate change, pollution, etc.) - and your suggestion of simply letting players PLAY OUT what will eventually happen... is probably the best we, as developers, can do. It's kinda like the film "War Games" - after the player tries (and fails) several ways to complete the game without the planet being destroyed... they may ultimately realise the seriousness of the situation, and potentially have a different perspective of things, hopefully for the better (e.g. recycle more, eat less meat, etc.) Anyway - a great twist on the well-exploited concept! :D

Thank you Paul! I do think this is a very interesting way to deliver a point! Meaningful games in general are quite very interesting imo, I hope I get to make more soon-ish! :)
