I want to write my first Celestial Fic

I'm thinking Celestial Grimoire Worm/A Song of Ice And Fire

I don’t want to write it if no one wants to read it so…

How do you feel about Greg Veder dropped beyond the Wall with the Celestial Grimoire?

Buddy, there's a big market for that sort of thing. There's a massive fic that has like nearly six thousand watchers with a similar concept.

Celestial fics can be cool but I think they need a massive nerf in power creep, especially in a mostly low powered world like asoiaf. I find I'll start reading a celestial fic and like it but by chapter ten the mc is way too strong and I stop reading. Maybe a mechanic to reward hardship would make it feel more earned

I feel like Greg has the potential to end up very overpowered very fast with the celestial grimoire in the Asoiaf of all places. Maybe if it was in a higher power level setting it would be more of a balanced story. But you seem pretty good at power balancing and making your mc's not to op so I think you'll be able to pull it off.

One issue with Celestial Forge fics is scope; if the MC gets too powerful, then all challenges become negligible. However, there are plenty of stories where a super powerful character still has problems to overcome. Mob Psycho - Mob can't just use his powers to succeed socially, he has to work toimprove himself; Jujutsu Kaisen - Gojo is super powerful, but enemies deal with that by just avoiding fighting him. Another thing is the possible goals Greg would have; if he wants to just beat up every bad guy, then that's easy; but completely reforming Westeros culturally so that it's not such a hellhole? That's a nuanced issue with plenty of challenges, that can be worked on for as long as the author wants. Also, there's the issue of how long the story will be; if the story is relatively short, then the power scaling becomes much less of an issue, because there's a defined endpoint. Keep in mind, I've never written a significant story before, let alone published it online, so my opinion on this probably isn't worth much. In any case, I'm a huge fan of Brockton's Celestial Forge, as well as Greg vs. the World, so if ZFighter18 ends up writing this, I'm excited to read it.
