I kinda sucks that when you said Ultimate Marvel I had question if your were talking about 1610 or 6160 but loved the prologue excited to see where it goes

Jeez man, Marvel original Ultimate timeline got nuked so bad, that barely anyone remembers the absolute bullshit that was happening back then. Sorry you had to feel like you had to explain it, since I saw a couple of comments questioning character decisions but man was this universe actually so wacky that even now people question the writing decisions 20 years later.

Need to read past the first chapter but I already had an idea of how dark the ultimate comic story line got as they went. An old buddy of mine even said if I get into ultimate comics he just recommended the SpiderMan ones and that was it. But looking forward to the story all the same and hopefully other people can enjoy it as well and look past any questionable decisions characters make when your just keeping them in character for how those comics portrayed them.

Wow this takes me back. Avengers formed by the early post 9/11 aftermath, and what was supposed to be a more down to earth Marvel Universe.

It takes me back, I was never a fan of the Ultimates/FF. Ultimate Spider-man really was lighting in a bottle (Peak Bendis), and early was X-Men okay. Unfortunately for me the universe fell apart the longer it went on. I felt they went from edgy/shocking moment to edgy shocking moment to show how different they were from 616.

Ok I think I get what you mean about it. Post 9/11 comics that show everyone and everything when they are at their worst or rather not being the versions the fans are used to (from the cinematic or other comics/TV shows) I only know basic info from some of Ultimate (admittedly not a lot) but was this the one where Captain marvel wanted to arrest Miles because of a vision of him killing captain America or was that something else?

No, unfortunately, that was mainline Marvel over a decade later. This is early 2000s

The problem with Ultimate Marvel, is the very question that they asked (what if this all happened right now, right after 9/11?). See, when people go to a form of media, especially comic books. It’s usually as a retreat/escape from the world, and usually because the world is so damn awful. So ultimate was awful, because it took the very thing people were trying to escape from and THREW it in their face.
