"Good Morning Metropolis"

Cap and Zeke are on a talk show while the team is at the beach.

Zeke uncomfortable

  • New costume
  • Stars added to his outfit
  • A short jacket with vague military designs.
  • More white
  • Wearing a blue visor that hid his identity
  • Captain Atom looking calm and fielding most of the questions
  • Playing up the military angle
  • Painting Zeke as a young patriot
  • Flashback to the PR agent conversation
  • Jokes about his name and how it doesn't fit Captain Atom
  • "Not Kid Atom? Atom Lad? Sergeant Atom?”
  • “Genesis chose his name,” Captain Atom answered, “for himself and I saw no problem with it. He’s not a soldier. He’ll likely be one when he reaches the age for it, but now, he doesn’t need to worry about that.”
  • Zeke has to lie about his powers
  • "You need to play up some thematic connection, because as it is, you two are as different as can be and the public needs to latch on to something. Why are you his sidekick and not any other random metahuman child? So, what you're gonna tell them is this…"
  • Zeke smiles. "Me and the Captain kinda have the same type of energy bouncing around inside us. Quantum stuff, y’know. While I'm not shiny and chrome or anywhere as strong as the captain, I could still do some damage to myself if I don't know what I'm doing. So, Cap took me under his wing."

A groan came from behind

All the team members in the base turn around as Zeke walks in, the young teenager holding the visor folded up in one hand.

Glancing at the TV, he says "You guys seriously watching this?"

Megan: "Of course we are. It's your debut on TV. Why wouldn't we?"

Aqualad: I remember my first time in front of the camera, introducing myself to the world. I could barely speak, the worry of making myself look like a fool in front of my King and the surface was so strong. I fear my silence that day has left me with a reputation for stoicism."

Zeke: What? Nooooo~. I have no idea who would think that.

Aqualad: Sarcasm does not become you, Ezekiel.

Zeke: Sorry. Sorry.
