I think that experimenting is very very important. 

Sometimes I have to push myself to do it, especially when I have moments with no inspiration. But always there is something that can help! for example for these couple of pics I picked a beautiful blooming branch and here we have a mini self-photoshoot =) 

This shoot made me improvise with flowers more when I have models !
