Have you noticed there’s nothing supernatural about this season? It’s all things that could happen or things that have actually happened.

This episode is one of the best this season! Loved seeing Emma Roberts back for a 1 episode cameo. She definitely left an impact with her short amount of screen time. Fun fact, the guy who plays Gary (the one who saws his arm off), is the son of singer Cher. And he’s actually transgender. He also was in Roanoke as one of the Polk sons in the “My Roanoke Nightmare” part/the first half of the season, aka the tv version of a Polk son. Also Beverly Hope played by Adina Porter is her best AHS character. She’s excellent this season. Also, Billie Lourd who plays Winter is the daughter of Carrie Fisher, aka Princess Leia in Star Wars. I also loved that this episode was entirely a back store episode. Very well placed in the season. The next 2 episodes are so good.

I remember watching this for the first time and realizing that Kai is a master manipulator; I think he tailors his speech based on the individual with whom he's conversing and may even seem to contradict himself (ex. with Beverly he empathizes with the black woman angle, with Gary it's the white guy angle.). I think it's hard to pin him down exactly.

That interaction between Ivy and Winter that we didn’t know about is super weird

It’s like telling someone what they want to hear because you want something from them. Kai needs people to follow him so that’s what he does. That is a great observation that I never noticed though.

And winter, Billie Lourd is Debbie Reynolds’s granddaughter ♥️ Debbie is my all time favorite old Hollywood actress.

That’s a great point! There’s another season like that, that he probably won’t ever get to, but I think that THAT can be another type of/ genre of horror.

Ryan Murphy left out supernatural elements on purpose this season because he wanted the horror to be about “the monstrous things we humans can do to one another” & as much as I love the other seasons, sometimes it’s not as scary when your fav characters can just come back as ghosts tbh
