Emily and Timothy are the backup plan, since they were genetically advanced enough to make a baby strong enough to sustain Michael's energy, if you remember from the first episode they were chosen to be saved because of their genes. And as Mallory said, energy doesn't disappear, it just changes form so Michael's energy just turned into the baby and that's why the baby didn't have to be born from a ghost and a human.

Love that you picked up on the iconic parallel between Addie and Michael! It goes even further with the fact that the car crash with Addie took place on Halloween night and it’s on Halloween night again that Mallory goes back in time, and with the help of Constance, saves the world from the Apocalypse. This season is perfectly written and even enhances the writing of Murder House and Coven.

The only issue I had with the finale is that killing Michael means that Madison never went to the murder house and that Moira is still there and was never saved from the house

I feel like Michael knew those two would create an antichrist offspring based off their DNA, that's why they were chosen for the outposts. But I'm not entirely sure

It was so much fun revisiting this season with you. Hate that it’s over but excited to revisit 1984 next. I remember liking it but don’t remember a lot of details. Also I’m glad you didn’t seem to notice Angela Bassett’s name during the credits (Jessica Lange too) after the opening so Marie Laveau’s guest appearance wasn’t spoiled for you.

I love how you keep referring to the tech dudes as Beavis and Butthead, cos that was my exact thought when I saw the season the first time xD Also I would love to see an AHS spin off sitcom starring Madison, Myrtle and Coco - it would be so stupidly funny xD

Yeah, in the first episode they show that Timothy submitted his DNA to an ancestry website, that’s why he got chosen, and he still does it in this episode even when the future changes

For me AHS is a trilogy. Murder House, Coven and wrapping up with Apocalypse. It was awesome watching them all again alongside your reaction.

Cody Fern (Michael Landgon) was just terrific. Amazing, balance between evil and... fragile, vulnerable... Just an amazing work. One of the best characters of the series.

Yay! Some people were miffed that Michael died that way since it was corny. But it was meant to be cheesy; how could you realistically kill the anti-Christ? I'm guessing that he was still mortal enough to die because it took place prior to his Black Mass initiation. I never considered that Michael was an especially effective villain because he was a new actor, but that's a good point. I know the actor-- Cody Fern-- is one of the reasons I liked this season so much ☺️ (Cody was actually in one of Ryan Murphy's other shows prior to this. Something about a fashion designer? I haven't seen it.)

It was a child that never should have been born at the end. Hense why Satan had a back up plan. Meaning the end of the world is inevitable. There is no changing it. No escaping it. It will always happen.

I think by Emily and Tim having sex in the outpost while Michael was in the leather suit watching kinda made them a backup for an antichrist. I feel their story definitely mimics adam and eve falling from grace.

Definitely recommend checking out the first half of season 10 (it’ll make more sense when you see it, don’t wanna spoil anything). It’s the last season we get to see some of our faves all together (also won’t say who’s in it) and there’s some excellent performances and it feels fresh but also feels like classic AHS. Definitely worth watching!!

Mallory leaving Madison in Hell to “sweat it out a bit” is such BS. Madison had a genuine redemption arc this season to the point where she sacrificed her life for the greater good. Yeah I guess this timeline’s Madison hasn’t had that arc yet but she is capable of it and leaving her there longer just seems unnecessarily mean.

Basically the apocalypse with the Anti Christ was just delayed. He was always going to rise regardless. To me this was not only one of the best seasons of the entire show but this was one of the best finales! Can't wait for you to start next season! I really liked it!
