Yeah a lot of people didn’t like season 2 because of Lila I think people found her really annoying and also I think her coming after Brian who was so good. I like Lila but she would be a bottom of my ranking of villains in Dexter.

Don't hold on to hope. Doakes is dead. As a Dexter fanatic, I actually liked Lila. She made things interesting. It's unfortunate as Doakes is one of the best characters on Dexter. Great reaction. Definitely looking forward to more reactions.

I mean, it's a show grounded in reality, not fantasy or science fiction. We all saw what happened: he was directly within the blast as it blew him up. We saw them identify his corpse. We saw Lundy confirm it to LaGuerta. There's no way you can still be in denial after all that. It's not the kind of show where they could just bring him back to life after being blown up.

dexter barely killed anybody this season compared to season one and it was just as good storytelling wise with different types of drama, really impressive to me that a serial killer show can have so many different intriguing plot lines all at once that still interconnect, also one of the reasons they had the doakes storyline come to a head so soon in the series season wise is they thought based on doakes character it would be unrealistic for him to keep getting fooled by dexter for seasons and season, they felt the only way he would is if he was dumb and doakes was not meant to be a dumb character he was meant to be worthy adversary, so them having it happen this early proves that he truly was a worthy opponent for dex, just a couple unlucky breaks or who knows how it goes
