A classic. If you haven't seen them yet you should check out my two favorite movies. 'The Departed' and 'Memento.'

The 1932 film 'Scarface', that this is a remake of, was inspired by the career of Al Capone, who ran a criminal empire in Chicago through a good chunk of the 1920s. For a time he was one of the most famous men in America; almost an anti-hero, with a huge scar down his cheek and a nickname (given to him by newspapers) to go with it: Scarface. He did not, however, meet the same fate as Al Pacino in this film, or Paul Muni in the first. Capone ended up going to jail for Tax Evasion. By the time he got out, Chicago was no longer his. He ended up in Florida. with his brain crumbling from Syphilis. He finally gave up the ghost in 1947. I highly recommend the 1932 'Scarface'.
