Did you watch Platoon 1986 Vietnam movie yet?

R Lee Ermey was a real real drill instructor during the Vietnam era. He told in one interview that hitting soldiers is wrong and banned, but because soldiers were needed fast in the war the basic training was cut many weeks. That put big pressure on instructors to get results faster or they got fucked. Because of this the instructors were more harsh than normally and abuse was tolerated.

“I think there’s a scene about someone getting yelled at?” lmaooooo, that’s an understatement. 🤣

My favorite Kubrick movie is still The Shining. With regard to this movie, I liked the first half better as well. Some people call this film an anti-war film while others claim it to be pro-war. I think it's a bit of both. Stanley Kubrick (director) called this film a "malleability of human nature." I take that to mean that he's referring to how human beings are affected by different influences and how they shape our behavior (mostly from a psychological standpoint) especially during the Vietnam War era.

Fun fact the actor playing Joker is Papa on Stranger Things…this is probably one of the most referenced movies…it is also a pretty good movie. If you haven’t seen Platoon I highly recommend it, my dad who was in Vietnam says it is a very accurate account of what happened. Keep up these older reactions they are cool to see🙂
